It is, but good timing with this to let filming get done before tearing that part of the mall down.

Filming in my office building this week - downtown, Eau Claire area. I thought they would have been wrapped up by now?

ALL ABOARD!

I heard the airport tunnel was closed for filming over the weekend but didn't hear if it was for this production. It would make sense if you've played the games at all.

This is a huge shoot, something like a whole year.

They're just finishing up building a fake town in foothills industrial that will be used for filming for awhile, as well.

I saw a video someone shot and there were broken down vehicles all over the road leading into the tunnel with the typical overgrowth and stuff that makes it look like it's been that way for a few years. From what I saw, it certainly looked like it was Last of Us.

They are turning the big lobby and loading docks into the ruins of First World Bank or something, as well as filming scenes in interior offices.
There should be plenty of empty office space stock with our empty downtown for them to use but they are also going to use some existing currently occupied spaces and paying tenants to use them.
The logistics of using a class A in-use office building surprises me. If I were the producers I would just take over one of the famously completely empty towers like the old Nexen building.

If the empty building doesn't have the "look" they're going for it may cost them more to shroud it and dress the sets to look the way they want them to than if they simply pay a fee to a tenant to take over their space for a time.

I did drive by… it looked very similar setup for “broken down” vehicles as when they did the 4th Ave flyover shoot.

Ah I walked by that building just yesterday, didn't even click as I saw them putting up and painting the "First World Bank" sign that it was not a real company...

They confirmed on the radio that the tunnel shutdown was indeed for the The Last of Us filming.
I'm pretty pumped for this to come out. Such a great game, and Pedro Pascal as the leading man should be a treat.

I always find it distracting when movies/tv shows are filmed in places that I know extremely well.

It just adds to the fun for me. Seeing some guy get thrown off the parkade I used everyday for work in Fargo season 3 had me doing this

Saw Pablo and Bella shooting today in the lobby. Included who I assume will be Henry and Sam. Pretty cool having played the video game to see all of them together and know roughly at what point in the story line they are shooting.
