Ducks Ducks make two significant trades

Yesterday, the Ducks moved out Meier (72) and a 2nd (ANA) 21' for Hopkins (75).

Today, we finally pulled the trigger on a deal to balance out our roster.

TO AVS

Johnny Gaudreau (75)
Conditional 2nd '21
S. Dries (AHL Bum)

To Ducks

William Nylander (73)
J. Puljujarvi

The Ducks had way too many LW'ers, and bringing in Hopkins made Johnny expendable.

We really like Nylander and think he has only up to go, especially playing with Tavares. He performed very well this year and should only get better.

The key for us in this deal was getting Puljujarvi added. I had to sweeten the pot a bit, but I think he comes back to the NHL...I would be shocked if he did not. Hopefully not for the Oilers, but who knows.

Thanks Pat for the deal and patience...hopefully this works out for both sides.

During the pre-season Nylander had top line and top line PP and only managed to get 5 points in 10 games. Our 2nd line is clicking but our first line needed a chemistry change. This deal has been in the works for awhile now.

Puljujarvi was a guy I targetted. There is just too much potential there for him to be a bust so it sucks losing him but I paid a 2nd for him and got a 2nd coming back so it eases the pain.

Id poolparty even rated anymore?

I'm trying to figure out a quick view offensive IQ calculation for my spreadsheet.

SK + PH +PA +Sc/400

Which I'm hoping can lead to a calculation of defensive

CK+DI+DF+SK/400

Which could end up being

OIQ-DIQ = Net liability

But I'm not sure if that works.

But I'm sure that if I ran it on JP he would end up with a average OIQ, a DIQ of a pancake and a liability that would make Lloyds of London go "Hard Pass"

Nope he has no rating since he didn't play in the AHL or NHL last year.
