Unfortunately Musk has made reading Twitter threads more difficult without an account, so I run them through this site.
Oh it’s “comedy”… fun…

It just popped up and his thread about this subject is funny making fun of all the twitter experts on whatever the tragedy of the day is. No idea if he's a nutbag generally.

So what’s your basis for this statement.

I assume you are applying the criteria of CSA 56 or are you using a US or European standard?

There is an acceptable frequency of bridge collapse based on the likelihood of collapse and the likelihood of collision. I should add this is in no way my area of expertise.

There’s almost no bridge design that could withstand having a key support completely wiped out, and there’s not pier support that could be designed to withstand a cargo ship dead on striking it. It’s why there’s supposed to be so many other preventative measures in place,

The snarky remarks pertaining to tin foil hat theories is comical considering the transportation secretary, Mr America's mayor himself declared the cause to be racist design. This would've never happened if minority children had a bus lane to the beach.
But yeah, adults in charge now and all that other ####. Carry on with 911 jokes when in reality truth is stranger than fiction. Har Har.

That was kind of my point, bridges are designed so boats dont get to the support, they have islands of concrete or dirt around them to absorb the hit, I mean getting hit by a boat is pretty much the main danger a bridge faces

I let my curiosity get the best of me.

Pete Buttigieg apparently blamed the bridge collapse on racism .... in 2021 when he mentioned a New York bridge that was designed with clearance too low for the buses to pass that used the route to bring largely immigrants to a beach??

Holy ####, some people shouldn't be allowed the internet.

No, it's exactly what I said, I said boats hit bridges, mostly little boats, sometimes big ones, but Bridges dont normally fall down because they put in protective barriers around them

I mean it could and likely was an accident.

But go read how important the bridge was economically to the city of Baltimore.

Is it out of the realm of possibility that a cyber attack could have redirected the ship?

"Why doesn't our bridge have things other bridges do? I've been voting against infrastructure upgrades for decades in favour of tax cuts for rich people I've been confused into thinking actually help me somehow. Seems unpossible! Thanks Obama!"

Not to be pedantic but you never said that at all. It's ok to be wrong. You never mentioned anything about barriers.

If it didn't have barriers then you wouldn't have been surprised it fell from "something it aught to be able to survive ". Not all bridges have barriers.
