Yes I restrained myself from adding "fricken" for now..

Is it time to get excited about this guy yet? Leading the Heat in points, leading in +/-, seems to be a great setup guy, and that shot from last night was wicked too..

Seems like this guy might be one of the next heat callups, (agree PMM?)

Would he thrive in a 4th line role playing with Jackman and Mcgrattan?

Where does he fit in the future for Calgary, are we hoping for Stajan to go at the deadline and he would come up as the 4th center? Looks like they are grooming Reinhart for wing, but Knight would probably stay center..

Thoughts?

I think his play had a lot to do with making Horak expendable. He is playing great for a guy straight out of college. My guess is that he is a permanent call-up by the trade deadline.

While i have not seen him play for the Heat, it does sound like he will give some competition for the 3rd line center when he comes up to the NHL.

Don't call him up unless he's playing on the top 3 lines. No need to rush it. I would wait until the 40 game mark and decide at that time.

I recall Feaster making a comment at the end of preseason that Corban was going to the Heat for now, but once he was called up he was very likely to stick in the NHL.

Hopefully, we see him up sooner than later. Right now, though, I don't see the room for him.

I think Knight will be playing on our third line by the end of the season. I imagine that we will move a couple of forwards by the deadline to make room for him. The next few years will be interesting as the Flames have a few players that could make the jump at a variety of positions (Knight, Hanowski, Reinhart, Poirier, Gaudreau, Ramage, etc.).

He is playing well and looking good.

I don't mind him staying in Abby for now though, and getting lots of quality minutes.

Hartley has his hands full juggling the minutes for Backlund and Colborne. How many Cs can you manage their development at the same time?

He'll be up soon enough.

Really amazing that we added 2 big C prospects for couple of 4th round picks

I really think his skill level will develop him into a quality 2nd line C.

I thought Knight deserved the call-up before Reinhart. I'm not the only one who thought that it'd be Knight either.

Knight has just been so so good. He's an awesome person too. Good quality personality. Never stops smiling off the ice.

I'd be wary of pegging him as a third line centre at this time because there's no stopping him from being a second liner.

I'd rather he stay in the AHL than getting a call up to play on the 4th line.

I'd rather he stay in Abbotsford the whole year... we already don't have enough minutes for the guys we have and that will only be solved when Stajan is traded, plus we'll want to have a spot to give Arnold a post-grad audition, and I'm sure the heat could use him.

I would like to see most of the prospects stay in Abby so that

1) they get lots of quality ice-time
2) they develop trust in one another
3) they go on a deep playoff run so that Gaudreau and Gillies can join them and turn pro

Back when I first saw him live in July, I thought he would develop into a poor mans David Bolland.

Someone that's a reliable 3rd line guy that can put up 40-50 points. His development in Abby is about right for that kind of development path. If a prospect is not putting up big numbers in the AHL, it likely means they are not making the NHL or will as a 4th liner like Bouma.

I don't think that he has the offensive abilities to be a 2nd line C on the whole, but if not he'd be a heck of a 3rd line C.

What I like is that all of Monahan, Jankowski, and Knight are all very good in the faceoff circle.

Corbin has been an exceptional add for the Flames organization. He is the type of player we need in the system to keep the bottom up pressure going. I dream of a Monahan/Backlund Colborne/Knight top/bottom center rotation in the years to come. Speed, size, and lots of skill.

Knight likely didn't get the last callup because they'd have to send him back. He'll come up when there is space for him, which is quite exciting..

You'd have to think Stajan is on his way out this deadline.

Bolland had 47 also in 09
Hudler had 42 in 08

I will argue that those 4 are not only outliers, they also played a much larger role/minutes than a normal 3rd line center does. Bouts of time centering top lines with prime PP time when the top 6 centers were injured (Toews Concussion, Crosby and Malkins injury plagues previous 3 years).
