excellent.
Just love that took a pay cut from the 560k he was signed for last year.
Now the only thing keeping him in the AHL is is two-way contract which makes it harder to have him clearly beat out Jackman.
Him and Stone are both 2-ways making 500k in the NHL so that makes it an even clear competion

I'm guessing Darryl didn't handle these negotiations. Didn't last time for his son either if I'm not mistaken. Probably Mike Holditch or even Feaster did.

This was one of the Kovalchuk dominoes I think.

Ryan Stone might have something to say about that. Going to be one of the more interesting battles to watch at camp, that's for sure.

He's too undersized to be an effective fighter/tough guy. A grinder with a good motor is a more apt description. sucks that the real good Sutter offspring is playing in Carolina.

I'd actually like to see Stone and Sutter play together. I'm sure one of them could play the wing and I think they'd have good chemistry.

Somewhat related - Jay Feaster has a media availability today - perhaps to talk about the recent signings.
I find it notable because it's an indication that he will be taking more of a role in the media.

Do you know what time it's at? Will the fan be covering it?

I'm sure they will be getting the tape - I don't know what it's about - they just sent out a release saying there would be the availability.
I doubt its anything major.
It's at 2 PM - I don't know if it will be carried live - my guess would be no.

So at the moment we are looking at the following lineup? (lines not a suggestion, just trying to figure out where all the forwards may fit)
Tanguay - Jokinen - Iginla
Bourque - Stajan - Hagman
Kotalik - Backlund - Glencross
Jackman - Sutter/Stone - Moss
Ivanans
IR? - Langkow
Does this sound about right? If so, not a bad forward set to be honest...

If that top line can BE a top line, that second line looks nice and solid.
If Backlund can make some chemistry with Glencross, maybe Kotalik will ride shotgun and beat on any meanies that mess with Backlund...
4th lines should work hard. If they do, we'll be decent.

Kotalik cleared wavers and is gonna either be in the AHL or KHL when the season begins and glencrosss is a left wings so i would do it like this:
Tanguay-Jokinen-Iginla
Hagman-Stajan-Bourque
Glencross-Backlund-Moss
Ivanas-Stone/Sutter-Jackman
but not bad...

If Langkow is healthy you could split up Iggy and Jokinen and give each of them a playmaker. Of course that assumes Kotalik is gone.
Tanguay-Stajan-Iginla
Backlund-Jokinen-Bourque
Hagman-Langkow-Moss
Glencross-Sutter/Stone-Jackman

Poor Backlund is going to get the Dusty Boyd treatment, isnt he?

don't know where else to state this, but DAMN, this has been the dullest, most boring offseason of D. Sutter's tenure.

No kidding. Jokinen coming back was so predictable.
