One of the great mysteries of this season is why this team cannot score in 1st periods. Many times they get off to poor starts, but even when they're playing ok they just can't bury one early. It's weird.

Yeah, but this wasn't really a great example. It was cross crease laser just below the crossbar, would have beat 95% of goalies, just happened to be the first shot.
This wasn't the usual Talbot first shot issue.
