It looks like we'll be getting a same-day release on Disney+, which is nice. So far, a lot of Hulu shows that Disney+ has picked up have been delayed at least a few weeks from their Hulu debuts.
Well That was a gut punch. As usual Seth isn't afraid to jump face first into heavy issues while still having amazing eye candy and sci fi glory to weave through out the story. Excellent episode and I can not wait for the next one.
This feels like a completely different show from the first season. Not saying it's a bad thing because it's great, but the first season leaned into the fart jokes and gags and it's slowly evolved into a more traditional, serious sci-fi show.

Usually it was a show that relied on visual gags and zingers. But this episode literally demanded that outside of dropping the cake in the hyperdrive, that it was serious in nature.
The scene between Isaac and Charlie, really hit you in the heart, and you don't blame her for her anger at all and her hate.
But the most brilliant scene was when Seth literally made fun of Star Trek in his appeal to Charlie. Because in Star Trek you get the 10 second its the right thing to do, or show the galaxy that humans aren't dirtbag we're different speeches, and the person gets with the program.
With this one, Charlie stood her ground, she couldn't get buy her feelings even when Ed stated that her monopolizing her grief and hate was getting tiring.
Even when she did save Isaac you could see that she had a sense of self loathing.
The other thing is we don't get beaten over the head with exposition. We had the half attended funeral scene, and Ed didn't spend 10 minutes after the funeral musing about the failures of humanities being shown in each and every seat. In a lot of ways, the Orville shows a lot of respect for the brains of the viewers, they beat us over the head with stuff. .

A strong episode, and one of the first sci fi horror's that they attempted. the atmosphere and the back ground music were great for building tension. Clearly they've upped the effects budget. A really fun ride and they have really cut out a lot of the over the top humor, tho Bortas seems to have taken a step back as a character this year to mainly acting as a straight man.

That crewman's transformation was pretty frightening. Great effects.
This feels like their version of the Borg but biological. A species that expands their ranks by "assimilating" others.
Yeah, I thought of the Borg at first as well.
There's no doubt that there is some messaging that the Union is really biting off more then it can chew here.
They're still in a active war. Then they go deep space exploring way beyond help, and run into a malignant parasite race, that's likely to pop their head of soon.
Isaac with the win when trying to talk to the Admiral about Claire's favorite sexual positions though.
The best effects shot besides that gorgeous red highlighted space station. Was Orville in the dark space.

I think they spent a lot of time on Bortas in the last couple of seasons, from his family troubles to the ethical questions around a species of one sex where its forced on children. Right through to his mate being a murderer. There's not much left to tell with him so I feel like he's just there to be the straight man to bounce jokes off of.
Obviously we're going to get more stories on Burke, but what else can they do with Gordon. LaMarr has become a feature character, and Issaac has a lot of story to tell.
