I know that Hartnell isn't the pure setup man that the team desperately needs, but he's known as a good locker room guy (ala Noodles) and has always been touted as a real leader. Frankly, I think those two things are just as important for this club as any on-ice skill he may bring.

Not a big fan of Hartnell's cap hit. Hartnell may turn into a 40 point guy in Calgary, for 4 million with 3 more years left, that is bad value.

I think a deal surround Sarich for Hartnell would be much more balanced. They both have similar potential and fit into similar places on the depth chart.

Why would Darryl be in Philly when such an important game was being played in Calgary? I would think he might be talking deal with the Flyers since they have plenty of top forwards.

Richards (I know there is no way)


Both teams look great on paper and were picked to be top teams in their respective division/conferance. Not happening either way and both teams can move top players for each other

I can see a package that includes a Giordano with a player like Jokinen, Regehr or Langkow to bring back Carter, and there number 5 defenseman.

If we are not giving up Phaneuf then it is going to take alot to get Carter.

Sarich is a #5 on *this* team. Let's just keep things in perspective and realize that very few teams have a top 4 like Bouwmeester, Phaneuf, Regehr, and Giordano. Sarich is a 2nd pairing D-man on most teams, we just don't appreciate that because we're so spoiled for defense here. Jordan Staal is a 3rd line center in Pittsburgh but that doesn't make him a 3rd line center.

Hartnell is also a potential 40 point guy making 4 million a season signed for 3 more years...

Regehr has played on team Canada. I would not be happy with that trade.

I would be happier with a trade involving Sarich plus offensive depth guy.

Sarich is easily a second pairing defenceman on any other team.
