Default acquiring an expiring domain

Hey Folks,

I'm interested in a .com domain that is expiring next week and am wondering if any of you have experience with Snapnames.com or Pool.com? Are there any other domain acquiring companies out there I should check out?

Any tips/advice would be appreciated.

Thanks

A lot of hosting companies do not just release the domain name once it is expired. A lot of them will just put those names "on hold". My advice is once you think it becomes available - keep trying to register it as much as possible. There are no rules to a domains name "hold" time - it could be 5 minutes, it could be a year.

I don't have any experience with those specific sites but I know goDaddy got in a bunch of trouble for buying expiring domains and then selling them back to the original owner for more money.
