The Best Actor on TV Is Better Call Saul’s Michael McKean
http://www.vulture.com/2017/06/vultu...call-saul.html
On Better Call Saul, a man we primarily associate with laughter fully transforms into a control freak with a broken mind who is as allergic to humor as he (allegedly) is to electromagnetism. Despite the fact that he has tackled dramatic material before, you may still think of McKean as the guy who hung out with Squiggy or sang “Big Bottom.” But while watching him on Better Call Saul, all you see is Chuck: intelligent, deadly serious, stubborn, miserable Chuck.
The Case for Michael McKean
Note: Spoilers about the Better Call Saul season-three finale will pop up in this section.
Thanks for sharing this, I'd seen Mckean in many roles he's played over the years so I was familiar with some of his work but I felt he really raised the bar with his role as Chuck, and as a huge fan of This is Spinal Tap I was shocked reading this, I haven't watched the movie in years but I never knew he played the lead singer, what an awesome actor.

Had the same reaction when I found out. From earlier in this thread:

He's also in the new biographical movie about President Warren G Harding!

Really enjoyed what a slow burn this show has been, I expected that he'd be Saul by the end of season 1 and off to have his wacky adventures as the lawyer of the damned. The way they are doing it is going to make the transition into Saul much more organic experience, really glad they didn't blow their load even though everyone knew where it was going, unlike House of Cards which massively rushed things and undermined the tone they were going for.
I think she's great but the problem is that there are too many good actors in this show. I can argue Patrick Fabian (Howard) is maybe even a better supporting actor as he kind of commands the screen in every scene he's in. It's really hard to decipher who's carrying what when they are all so competent.
That said I do feel McKean stands a little above the rest so I'm quite surprised he got snubbed from at least a nomination.
Kim Wexler is the key to the show, in particular in the Jimmy vs. Saul fight, but Rhea Seehorn isn't doing much as an actress (mainly because she isn't being given the material to do so).
According to Gilligan, the next season will take on a darker tone, as it carries the main story closer to the events of Breaking Bad. There are also hints that the new season will delve further into the post-Breaking Bad adventures of “Cinnabon Gene.”

Finally! im wanting more of tales of dealing with unruly customers who demand gluten free cinnabons, part time employees who continuously miss their shifts and the homeless stealing napkins and cutlery.
God damn I love this show. Can't wait for the Fall. I think I'll re-watch the first three seasons this summer.
