Aliens is rad, no question about it. It's a war movie dressed up in a sci-fi skin. Not aimed at you, Sliver: Getting hung up on the trauma/motherhood angle is a mistake. Just enjoy the plucky heroes and marvel that Paul Reiser.was in it.

As to your last comment: We're going to find out in August! Do yourself.a favour and search out the trailer for Alien: Romulus!

Sorry for interacting with art the wrong way.

All right, have it your way Yeah_Baby!

I put it to you that Ripley had no more moral authority to kill thr Alien Queen tham the Alien Queen had to kill Ripley. The motive for both was protecting their respective children.

or..Game over, man, game over!

The choice is yours!

Of the entire Christ family Harold was always the worst. Just the worst.

Picked up the new release of The Crow on 4K, it's still just as cool as I remember, it's probably the coolest movie ever. Brandon Lee is incredible in it and gives such a great performance as well , he really made this movie. The soundtrack and atmosphere in this is also incredible. If you are burnt out on the latest superhero movies, give this a go, it's one of the best.

I loved both, Alien is #1 because well, it was the introduction of the scariest creature on film ever, Aliens was great also, it needed a faster pace, more aliens and deaths and it delivered.

If I were to rank the top science fiction/horror films I think I would have my top 10 as:

1 - Alien
2 - The Thing
3 - Aliens
4 - Terminator
5 - Predator
6 - Terminator II
7 - Invisible Man
8 - The Fly
9 - Invasion of the Body Snatchers
10- A Quiet Place

Great list! I'd add the following

Event Horizon
The Faculty
Signs
10 Cloverfield Lane
Under the Skin

The Cube is a favourite of mine so it would have to be on the list.

The Cube for me is a weird one, I havent seen it in forever so my memory is hazy, but as I recall the budget was low and the acting wasn't great but the premise and the idea was very, very cool and enough to keep you interested.

Ya, absolutely low budget. Not the greatest acting, but the concept, mystery, pacing, and tension is all great. Hypercube steps it up, but the mystery/unknown of the original contributes more to the fear factor.

Yep. Thats pretty much how I remember it. Really cool idea, kind of a shame they couldnt get a budget, but as I recall they did pretty well with what they had.

Unfortunately I cant remember anything about Hypercube.

I've always thought Pandorum (2009) was greatly underrated.

Signs is amazing, one of the best atmospheric movies ever. The alien at the birthday party scene is unmatched.

I enjoyed the marketing for The Fall Guy more than the movie itself.

An action comedy where the jokes didn't land and the action barely got off the ground. What was disappointing--and a bit surprising--was the awkward chemistry between Gosling and Blunt.

3/5

Extra half star for the gratuitous butt shots.

Plays like a slow-burn, psychological thriller that builds up to a home invasion from the unknown. 10/10 movie until the physical reveal zaps the suspense (CG wasn't exactly great at the time). But even then, the conclusion winds up being one of the more satisfying MNS has ever done.

Some masterful suspense scenes. Reminded me of prime Spielberg and close encounters a little.

Then Shamalama hit that cliff soon after - until Split.

The chemistry was totally nonexistent. Real weak movie.

I get what they were trying to go for, but Spaceman was a bit of a slog. It's the only movie with a gigantic spider that I watched all the way through...so there's that.
