Exactly. Let's wait until someone dies from a puck to the face until we decide to put face masks on. That's what had to happen until helmets were finally made mandatory. (And even that was instantaneous stupidly.)
Playing without helmets seems incredibly reckless and dumb now doesn't it? The face masks is the same deal. How many times per game do high sticking occur? And each time there's a risk to someone's teeth, eyes, and face in general from skates and 100 mph pucks.
It's gonna happen at some point. And it's gonna be a dark day.
