I just got some new tires from Mr. Lube. It was like having my own pit crew. Done in 25 minutes. It was so much better than the half day to all day affair at Kal Tire et al.

Now is the time to buy, well spring was probably better but now beats fighting the madness at first snow fall.

Just picked up a set of used winters last week, great time to buy them if you have room to store them

It is with great sadness that I bump this thread.
Anyone changing over in advance of our first little blast of winter? I do mine at home, so I have my eye on the forecast. On one hand, it will be mostly wet. On the other hand, some forecasts have overnight lows down to -8 on Sunday/Monday (WeatherUnderground and The Weather Network).
And then, of course, it'll probably be warm and dry for 3 weeks. Personally I'm still planning on waiting, although this week/weekend I have an unusually light schedule, so I'll probably regret not doing it while I have the time.

I almost always have my tires swap on the last week of October and then again in mid to end of April. That's like 6 months each for winter and all season tires for me.

I’m waiting. I’ll have an extra vehicle so if it’s really bad I can just drive that instead.
I hate winter.

Weeks ago I scheduled mine to be put on this Thursday, because I had a mountain trip planned for this weekend. In theory, that should have guaranteed record high temps for the next few weeks at least. Not sure what happened.

Booked Saturday to get a set of new all weathers on the wife's car today. No shortage of openings at that time. Now there is nothing open till OCT 7th at OKTire in Okotoks.

The next 3 weeks are very busy for me, and I was able to sneak in an appointment tomorrow for my usual winter swap, oil change, tune up, etc.

I had rolling auto come out to my place and change my tires on both my cars. It was quick and quite reasonably priced. Also have a first time user discount and multicar discount. I would highly recommend them.

I'm waiting till October. I'll then do the swap myself. We still got a lot of dry weather to go yet. (not including this weekend of course)

I do them myself for my wife's vehicle so will probably wait until Thanksgiving or so. If it get's too wild this weekend I can always do them now.
Slightly OT, I am also in the marked for new tires for my truck. Bad timing but it is what it is. I've found a couple decent deals for Cooper and for Firestone but have never driven either brand. Generally speaking are there any comments/suggestions/review either way on these two brands?

Nothing wrong with Cooper tires, I have a set on my truck, and we used to sell them all the time at my dad's shop. They are, I think, the second largest manufacturer in the US.

I'm also going to canmore today... Where did you see this amount of snow? CTV news said this morning Canmore would get 6 cm total by 7 am Sunday morning.
