If I were to go from about 11:45-12:30 would I be able to catch some drills or would that likely be a break between sessions?
EDIT: For other's reference... not worth it.

Glad to see Ortio looked good. I did an interview with him last year and he seems like an outstanding kid!

It is well known (via Peter Maher's commments) that the flames have a serious lack of fun/entertainment/personality in the organization. Anything that lightens up the room and keeps things fun needs to be kept.

I don't know where else this would fit but Sarich and I believe Moss were out with the powerskating coach a hour after everyone left working in skating drills. Good to see Sarich working on that lack of speed that can be his downfall.

At this stage of the game I dont think his speed will increase with any skating coach.

Well, good to see they're both working on that part of their game that is lacking.

Not really true. Just because he's in his 30's now doesn't mean he can't improve. If Sarich works at it hard enough he can become a better skater.

Saw Darryl smirk today during one of the drills where someone rubbed another guy out.

I'm kind of excited about this Carter Bancks kid....not much offense and will likely top out as a 3rd/4th liner, but love the way the kid fights and his effort..the Flames brass also seems to really like the kid...
Hopefully the kid can develop into something similar to a Rick Rypien type...

I asked the media guy and he said they will do their best to set up an Internet stream for the games.

Dont really agree. His skating is developed. Its like saying I want to be a PGA golfer, so give me a great coach and have him teach me for 2 weeks and expect me to be one in a short time even if Im a decent golfer to begin with. It just wont happen.

So you can't teach a new dog old tricks? I taught my 15 year old house cat to stay in the house, all I needed was a squirt gun and it was about 2 weeks.
If you can't learn something from an expert in 2 weeks, then the problem is either that the teacher can't teach, or the student does want to learn (or they're dumb). These are professionals, they can pick up changes to their mechanics that will help. Sure they can't change they're entire skating style, but if you don't make adjustments to your game, you won't make it to 30 years old in any professional league.
