Fun game, 2 classic Iggy goals down the right wing.

Also Stajan scoring for Toronto.

Late season runs rarely translate into success the following year.

I am not a fan of enduring a 1-9-1 run that completely killed the teams hopes to then watch them light it up in meaningless games and go from a top 5 pick to something closer to 10th. Having said that when I see the pkayers that are putting up the points and getting the wins are the young core players on the team then my tune does change. I hope Monahan gets a hatty, Dougie gets another 3pts and Johnny gets all kinds of points.

Not sure if Bennett is out tonight (hear that Hamilton is called up) but I would love to see him go off and have a huge night

Hoping for a career year from Monahan (7pts away), Dougie (5pts away), and Johnny get 81pts (10 away) and Bennett get 40pts (7 away)

That team went 8-7-0 in their last 15... 7-5-0 in the final 12. I wouldn't call that a 'late season run'.

The 2014-15 Blue Jackets finished their season 16-3-1. How'd that translate into 2015-16?

LOL at TSN.ca's headline:

During the second half of 2014 the Flames played/won at a pace that would place them in the midst of playoff teams. Not just the last 15 games. They carried that pace and work ethic with them into the next year.

Rooting for losses doesn't work well either.

The way I see it the Flames just simply are not as bad as the Canucks, Oilers, Leafs, Jets. They're not out sucking those teams so get off of the bloody tanking mentality, enjoy watching the kids play and develop and let the cards fall where they may. The Flames can easily be a playoff team next year without a top 3 draft pick.

My sentiments exactly but we have 0 control over it.

I am getting flashbacks to young guns years. They worked so hard to squeeze into 11th, 12th place every year and end up with duds like Nystrom, Kobasew, Krahn and so on. The "young plucky small-market team gritting out a few wins against Detroit late in the season really showed what they were made of" narrative.

Could counter that the strong end to 2014 set the stage for last year.

You're comparing a roster that boasts Monahan, Gaudreau, Bennett, Brodie, and Hamilton to the Young Guns Flames? That might be one of the worst comparisons ever made.

This team already has elite level talent, which is a BIG reason why a bottom five finish is a bit of a pipe dream.

It's a regional game for the Leafs and it belongs to TSN.

On another note this is what I believe the first Flames game to be broadcast in 4k (by TSN not Sportsnet), unfortunately most Flames fans won't be able to watch in that resolution even if you had the proper equipment as you have to be in the Leafs broadcast region to get the game.

@RogMillions
For the record #Flames Coach Bob Hartley told me Sam Bennett will play vs #Leafs .

Good news after the accidental headshot from Byron last night.
