If they are playing with a trap defence, they aren't doing a very good job of it. Giving up the the 6th most shots per game and also have given up more goals than Edmonton, 2nd most in the league. I know we had a few struggles when we played them earlier in the season, but there is no reason why we shouldn't be rattling a few past these guys tonight.

Seems when people think of the Coyotes they think back to the Coyotes of a few years ago. Not very quick, maybe not all that talented and playing a tight defensive game to give themselves a better chance at winning. The Coyotes of today are younger, quicker and well, looser.

Ha! Stupid L.A. You can have that Central Division Wild Card team. I'll take my chances with this group any day.

Yeah, they are a completely different team nowadays.

4-3 Flames in OT, the yotes are absolutely brutal in overtime if you've ever watched them (despite their OT record).

Anyone know where to find how games we played against a team that is coming off a game the night before? My buddy that's an Oiler fan keeps chirping that we have such an easy schedule and we're always facing teams that are tired from the night before.

BBQ coyote tonight. GFG

Can't find the numbers for playing a team on the second night of a back to back, but the oilers play the fewest back to backs of any team this year

Unfortunately, as I read that article, it looks like LA plays the "tired team" most often (with 14). Edmonton is tied with Calgary at 12.

Ah yes. I skimmed it. On a second glance you are correct. Still refutes the claim though

It's more dangerous to play a team that just played the Oil.

They won't have had to play a hard physical game - more like a contact scrimmage. They might have vastly out played them and lost somehow - now you get a pissed off team. They might have won handily - now you get a team that's full of beans. Or they might have been outplayed by the lowly Oilers, and again you get a pissed off (and embarrassed) team.

Well if my NHL '16 pre game warm up is any indicator, I shouldn't be playing in the NHL.

Don Maloney just did a 5 minute hit on Fan 960. When asked about Treliving he reiterated that he probably works the phones harder than any GM in the league - nothing that we didn't already know but good to have re-emphasized.
