Will CBJ win their first playoff game this year?
The Columbus Blue Jackets have been around since the 00-01 season and have appeared in the playoffs only once. In that series, they were swept 4-0 and have yet to win a playoff game in the history of the club.
How do people feel about this team, I feel like they've worked to become a more serious/focused hockey club in the last few years but what do people think of their chances to win at least one playoff game this year?

If they even make it (which I hope they do) I'd love to see them get past the 1st round. Hopefully at least they can win a game

They were tied for 8th last year, but did not qualify...

Also, I assumed a hockey forum seemed like a good place to try and discuss hockey.

I just hope they get in for their fans. What a s****y start to a franchise. It's not like they were even an iffy market that needed to build a fanbase.
They had a sold out building, with loud, passionate fans for years, right from day 1. But they could just never put a competitive team together, and it eventually (after a long time) eroded away and made them look like a failed expansion market, which they aren't at all.
If that team makes the playoffs and goes past round 1, I guarantee you'll see sellouts regularly next season.

In the last few years they have worked hard to move to the Eastern Conference and it has paid off.
Even if they sneak into the playoffs there is no way they win a game against Boston or Pittsburgh.

I think they do. I think they finish 7th or 8th, and Bobrovski alone should be able to win them one.
I don't think they make it past the first round though, don't even think it will be close. Maybe a 4-1 series. Or a 4-2 series that is never really in any doubt and looks closer than it is.
Still don't like the team, but yes I think this is the best they've ever been.

Depends on where they land in the standings. If they played Pittsburgh or Boston, they could probably squeeze out with just one win, maybe two if they get lucky.

They have been at 2nd in the Atlantic Division so if they can finish as a 2-3 Division finisher and play the Rangers or Flyers, they might be able to pull off a series win. They are one of about 12 teams with a positive goal differential.
They are a team without a great deal of scoring talent, but have been around the top 10 in the league for goals for all year. Seriously unless you are a hard core Jackets or hockey fan, I defy you to name 10 players on that team in 10 seconds not named Sergei Bobrovski off the top of your head. I suppose a somewhat mobile defence has helped them create a decent scoring by committee that has produced a lot of 10 goal scorers.

2 pts behind the Rangers with 2 games in hand - they may not have to face Bos/Pitt in the first round
It would be great for hockey if they could have some success

I actually don't mind Columbus as a team, still have no idea why they decided to go after Gaborik though. That was a strange trade

You mean trade Gaborik? Or when they initially acquired Gaborik? Someone has to score the goals.

I hope they have some post-season success.. sure, why not. No real reason to hate on the Jackets. I enjoy seeing Johansen grow into a points producer in the NHL.

Fun CBJ playoff fact...
Who is the all time leading PLAYOFF scorer for the Jackets?
If you answered Rick Nash, you're only partially correct. Nash is tied with the Flames' own Kris Russell for the CBJ Playoff scoring lead. Both have 2 points!

LOL, if you go to the BJ's site, the front splash page currently features Rick Nash but as a Ranger!
