wranglers [GDT] Jan. 11-12 Heat vs. Wolves (8:00 MT) (Saturday on SNET)

Hey all,

Just thought I'd quickly make a GDT for both games this weekend.

Don't have time to come up with the stats or anything.

Tomorrow (Saturday) the game will be broadcast on Sportsnet with Kerr and Simmer doing the PBP.

Enjoy the game. Go Heat!

Is Sven the only likely call-up not in the lineup tonight (for both sides)?

The schedule worked out well for the Nucks. They won't need to fly Kassian or any other members of the Wolves across the country for their camp.

Weird that the Oilers pulled their kids immediately last Sunday.

Irving getting the start tonight according to thefan960.

Hopefully he plays great, and gets the nod tomorrow too.

Then off to camp in a good frame of mind.

Probably to protect them in case of an injury since their kids are their first line. Kassian, Brodie etc., their teams can survive without them.

I believe I heard on Team1040 that Kassian was feeling sore and that was why he wasn't practicing with the other Canucks and I think Tanev was practicing with the NHL canuck players so he might be out of tonight's game as well

Big game for Irving. Hasn't looked good in the last few games he's started. If he has a big game it should help him gain confidence and beat Karlsson for the back up job.

Doesn't look like Wahl or Estoclet made it for tonight's game.

Irving's performance is quickly limiting his future with the Flames organization. Brutal.

How did Leland turn so terrible this season? Is it all in his head? I don't see how he makes the team with the sample he's shown so far this season, despite how he played last year.

Its what happens when you dont play in regular games. Kind of dumb how they the heat have handled him. Regardless of his preseason you dont make him the 3rd string.

with the way his contract worked out, there was a pretty good chance that he wouldn't be a Flame after this year, but I hoped at least he could be part of a trade.

However, he really wouldn't have any trade value at all at this point.

Hopefully he can find a way to right the ship

I don't think management has shown any confidence in him, going back to last season's playoffs. Of course I'm sitting here on the outside so there may be more going on than what I'm aware of. I see him as maybe thinking he doesn't have anything left to prove in the AHL after some success in the NHL and it's come back to bite him.

Ever since the Boston game last season Irving has played with no confidence. Which is too bad since he was showing so much promise at the start of last season.

I hope he has a strong camp. Guy just had his first kid, bumped to 3rd string in the AHL and i personally think he should have been the backup last year but that really isn't relevant.

If he isnt good enough than fine but im kinda rooting for him, not because of draft status, just seems like a run of bad luck, if so i hope he turns it around. If he proves not to be good enough, well best of luck somewhere else.
