finished the Resident Evil 4 remake. Really enjoyed it, I thought they did a great job preserving the original while freshing things up and implementing changes that make sense. Ashley was more useful than in the original, Luis' story arc was more interesting and some of the boss battles were relatively tough too, especially Salazar. All in all, I'd say it's a blueprint for how to do a great remake. Like I've said before, I'd have loved for them to tackle other old RE games before doing 4, but it's hard to be unsatisfied with this. Capcom did a really good job.
sadly, I've read that Lily Gao, the voice actress for Ada Wong, has been harrassed online by "fans" who were unhappy because I guess they didn't like that it was a different voice than in the RE2 remake. Can't say I'm surprised, unfortunately. It just seems to me that a small portion of the gaming community consists of toxic #######s, and as always, that group is the loudest. Sad stuff.
Yeah I've started playing it again to bridge the gap to some other games, still trying to unlock things, I had no idea there were so many weapons, all the evolutions, great game.

I finally just finished TLOU part 2. Naughty Dog really are masterful story tellers. I really liked the ending, but it’s hard to imagine they are done with that story line.
There were a few times while I was playing that I was hoping they’d wrap up the story and be done with the series, but now that I’m done I’m hoping they’ll do a part 3.

I haven't played a Final Fantasy in many many years but after watching the State of Play I think I can consider myself hyped for the release of FFXVI. Looks amazing.
I think FFXVI looks very cool and fun but there's also a part of me still concerned -- like I've come to understand and accept that FF will likely never be turn based battles again, but a crazy bombastic Devil May Cry-style action game is so far in the other direction (and a type of game I haven't typically enjoyed in the past) that it's hard not to be a bit worried with how it'll turn out.
Lol, no, I wouldn't expect to hear anything on this for at least 6-7 years, if ever. Rockstar is making GTA6 right now and even that is at least another year or two out from release at best.

I doubt it'll ever happen. It's been 4 and a half years since the second game, without a real whisper of a third one happening. Not sure which story they could tell either, I feel they've wrapped up pretty much every character's storyline (unless you want to do Jack Marston in 1914). And with a GTA on the horizon at some point, I doubt Rockstar would work on a new Red Dead at the same time.

I understand how you feel, but we're talking about a series that hasn't had a fully turn-based combat mainline game for over 20 years (FFX being the last one). There's no turning back the clock on this series anymore. I'm pretty hopeful for XVI though. It's looking pretty great and has all the hallmarks of a Final Fantasy from a more traditional fantasy world perspective.

My enthusiasm for it comes from the development team, FFXIV is such a great piece of work and really epitomizes what I feel Final Fantasy should look and feel like, if that makes sense. I have utmost trust in Naoki Yoshida to make an excellent FF game until proven otherwise. If this was the same clown-shoes team that made XV I doubt I'd even be planning to buy it day one.
I wouldn't say it will never happen. It just won't be announced anytime soon and you're probably looking at something like 2032-2034 when it's released if GTA 6 ends up coming out holiday 2024.
As far as the story goes who knows but Rockstar will think of something to cash in. This article suggests maybe the next one could take place in Canada.
In terms of Rockstar development Red Dead 2 just came out.
I'm sure a third will come down the pipeline eventually but that game is such a beast to develop, the writing is top notch, the acting, the voices etc etc, it takes time.

On one hand, it's been almost 5 years since RDR2 came out.
But like you said, if it's in terms of Rockstar, then yes, it should take another 7 years or so.
It's like Bethesda with Elder Scrolls or George RR Martin with GOT. Very slow.
But it's better than the low quality annual releases that EA does.
pretty impressive work... curious to the length of the game... honestly, at this level of detail, you really only need a warehouse or two with various scenarios...
