He kind of had me worried since the Werner incident. I was half expecting after Lalo left that he might have taken the shot at Kim to keep her from talking too much.

Not sure why Lalo was concerned about the car. Was he just testing Sauls ability to stay quiet and stick to a story or what?

I mean he's not even the best character on the show he's on. He's a good character though, yes, but did that scene really need him calling Saul, leaving the phone open and then him being across the street on the roof with a sniper rifle?

It really didn't, I think it would have been better without it. The scene in the apartment more than stood on its own. Them being on their own would have raised the stakes. It didn't need Mike.

I assume Nacho called Mike to tell him what was about to go down after Lalo got out of the car.

He wanted to find out what really happened to Jimmy in the desert. Nacho had dropped him off at the same location where Jimmy had picked up the money. The reason that location was chosen was because it had a single way in and out.

While he was waiting, he realized that if Jimmy's story was true, they would have passed his broken-down car on the way to the drop-off. Since they hadn't, he had Nacho drive back along the road until he saw the tire tracks where the car had been pushed off the road. Upon finding the car, he saw the bullet hole and realized that the car had been involved in a shootout. If the car had been shot with a high-powered round, it likely meant that something happened other than simply Jimmy's piece of crap car breaking down forcing him to walk to the truck stop.

If someone had rescued Jimmy from an ambush or something like that, Lalo wanted to know who it was and why because he knew it wasn't one of his men. Also, if Jimmy had been ambushed, he likely wanted to know who was behind that as well.

Holy eff that was great! Some pulp fiction type tension there! Also Lalo jumping onto that car was amazing.

If they kill Kim off i'm going to be super pissed!
Spoiler!

I disagree. I thought it brought a lot more tension having Mike there. It brought in a lot more uncertainty of how it was going to turn out. ie, is this where Kim gets shot? How's Kim going to react if Mike explodes Lalo's head in front of her? Without that angle, it would have been pretty obvious they were going to talk their way out of it somehow, instead it was a bit of a surprise.

And Kim walking into the crosshairs just screamed all kinds of possible foreshadowing. Collateral damage?

This season has seen Mike face his largest hardships so far: dealing with the fallout from Werner, temporarily losing Kaylee, self destructive behaviour, getting stabbed, falling further under the Gus' thumb, the desert walk. All he's done is become a more tragic character throughout the series.

I had always planned on binging Breaking Bad again once Better Call Saul is done, but now when I do I'm going to miss not having Lalo on it. Vince Gilligan is just so damn good at creating memorable characters

Maybe in the next episode Saul buys his white deville. Or Kim buys it for him.

Tonight’s season finale is an hour and 25 minutes. Concerned, little concerned, sorta concerned, kinda concerned .... damn concerned about Kim and Nacho.

I guess tonight was all about setting up next season. Typical BB season finale.

Kim is the star again. She has become the anti-Skylar.

Solid cliffhanger to end the season. The wait for S6 is gonna be a long one.

Jimmy doesn't ruin Kim. Kim finalizes his transition into Saul

It would be an excellent mid-season episode, but I wasn’t totally loving it as a season finale. I guess Kim, Nacho, and Howard all live until next season.

Wonder if Kim really does feel that way, or is feeling out how far Jimmy would go as far as the Howard sabotage goes.

At least we know Howard will be back, in a big way.

Kim was mirroring Jimmy, in that she will now risk sacrificing everything to do what she thinks will make Jimmy happy. Either that, or she just really wants his settlement money.
