how do you get banned for life and what does the ignore button do? I've never used it on anyone. Does it not show their posts?

If you have someone on ignore, this is what you'd see instead of their post, as you scroll down a page of posts. Not completely sure but I think it might also mean they're unable to PM you.

Also, you end up seeing their posts if they are quoted, or if you can't help yourself and open up the hidden post (I plead guilty from time to time).

I'm really easy to get along with in real life, but boy, online, I can be a real dick sometimes. I get way too invested in a debate or argument and I want to jump down peoples throats. It's not a great quality. I have to work really hard to censor and control my posts. I'm sure I'm no picnic for mods or have been in the past.

^I love the humility of that post. We all can be dicks.
I treated Scorp like utter crap when he first joined the site.
He was coming in real strong but the way I chose to deal with it was very poor. No one deserves that.

Not me. I poop Rainbows.
I was hard on Scorpion too. This is the hard part, he needed some leeway to get his feet under him, most new posters do, but then theres also posters who have had more than enough and just need to be tied to Anders Erikssen and launched into the sun.

New posters that are enthusiastic and not being dicks will always get the benefit of the doubt.

Yes, yes, but what about the 'sun-launching' part?

Wait, when did MMF get booted? I liked him/her.

Him.
He's a really nice guy. Met him IRL a few times. I wish he was back on the site too.

Ya, he seemed to have a good sense of humour. Maybe some took it the wrong way, but that was just his style. Too bad he got banned, you can never have to much lightheartedness around a forum where people take everything way to seriously.

MMF was the only poster who actually welcomed me to the site (and made a point of doing it, too).

Issue is that he of all posters took things far too seriously and at times (his twitter war with Roger Millions as an example) and acted at times like he was a moderator. I'm pretty sure for every person that liked him there was a person that didn't. I don't discount that he's a good guy as even though we argued plenty I never take things personally and know that most people are a lot different in person.

MMF was a bully and a dick. He was sometimes really funny but usually I just viewed him as someone who was likely bullied a lot in real life and decided to vent it out online

What does twitter have to do with CP? And I wasn't around then, so I can't comment on how he was back then. All I know is in the short we were both here at the same time, he seemed like a decent member of the community.

Well it was cringe worthy for one and not a lot different than when he got into it with posters, particularly new ones. I'm sure the moderators didn't want to ban him (I was as surprised as anyone) but were likely left with no choice due to all the complaints as he didn't make this a friendly place for new posters.
