I have no issues with Vegas getting some extra love. They are the talk of the NHL this season and rightfully so.
It's a meaningless exhibition game, I'll never understand why anyone gets slighted by the picks. Yet it happens every All-Star game.

Neither do I, but as noted above, it should really be Karlsson or Marchessault.

Sure, but let's give that extra love to the relatively unsung heroes of Vegas that are leading the team to where they are in the standings I say.
Marchessault - 40 points
Karlsson - 36 points (leading the Pacific in goals)
Smith - 35 points
Perron - 34 points (in 35 games)
Neal - 29 points
Neal has the biggest name recognition, which I guess you can make a case for the All-Star game, but I contend it's a bad pick.

Yes, and if you're going for name recognition, why Schwartz over Tarasenko?

Also, Tampa with 4 players going and the coach. That's a lot, even if they are the best team in the league.

They're the host city too which has to play into it.

As token of a selection as any on the list.

He's only started about 12 due to injury, but MAF is 9-2-1, has the highest save % in the Pacific, lowest GAA, and has a couple shutouts.
PS: I wouldn't wish the ASG on any goalie.

I don't love the team but can't say I'd do much better within the rules.
Boeser, OEL, Burns, McDavid, and someone from the Ducks all have to be there by default.

seems like the obvious choices in the pacific except Neal over the other Vegas players like mentioned above
Monahan should be there over him as well, but Vegas was always going to get a skater, so he wouldn't have even been next

Each of the TB selections is a no brainer though. Likely 4 of the top 10 players in the league this year.

Who of those four would you take off the team?

McDavid - Lock
Gaudreau - Lock
Boeser - Lock
Kopitar - Lock
Burns - Lock
Doughty - Lock
If those aren't making it, it's a sham anyways. OEL becomes the next obvious player as a representative from Arizona. Keller's a maybe, but OEL just makes more sense.
That leaves 2 goalies and 2 forward positions left. With the Ducks and Knights needing representatives.
Give a goalie nod to Gibson satisfying the Ducks requirement. It's not like his 0.923 is far behind Quick's 0.926. The difference in other stats mainly comes from the teams they are on. Fleury's stats in his limited games are excellent, so give him the other goalie spot and all teams are represented.
That leaves two spots on forwards. Pick 2 of Monahan, Marchessault, Karlsson or Getzlaf in my opinion. Getzlaf hasn't played enough games, so maybe cut him.
