Would you trade up to have both Tkachuks?
...and if so, what would it take?
Edit: He's slated Top-5; Button has him at 3.

Trade what exactly? We have no picks and the assets we'd have to give up just so we could have the "matching set" would make no sense.

No. We don't need another LWer. I know he's also listed as a center but who would he displace on LW? Not Johnny, Matthew or Sam.

Gaudreau Monahan Tkachuk
Bennett Jankowski Tkachuk
Would teams just concede without even showing up?

I wonder where he would've been picked in the 2016 draft had he been born one day earlier. Just after Nico and Nolan?

We don't even have a first round pick, so I don't see how we could do it. If it is possible to get him with a reasonable offer I'd love it. We would be the most annoying team in the NHL to play against.

I would do Hamilton for him and that probably woudn't be enough. Teams would be asking for Monahan or Gaudreau....or even Tkachuk. At least a Tkachuk for Tkachuk trade would take the Peter Griffen meme to new heights.
A Tkachuk's a Tkachuk, but a Tkahuck could be anything, even a Tkachuk.

Although I'll gladly take him, what this team really needs is a sniper in the mold of Boeser or Laine, not another Tkachuk.

Without a 1st rounder you're talking about trading Gaudreau.

I think he will be better then both of them. He definitely would have gone before Nolan. Maybe not Nico.

If we don't make the playoffs, I honestly would give that some thought.

I wouldn't trade Dougie for the Tkachuk the Flames already have and he's better than Brady will be
Brodie or Hamonic+ would be what I'd move for him
As long as him and Dahlin end up outside the division I'll be happy with how this draft plays out

Would be interesting.
I could see Buffalo looking at it.
If they end up at 3/4 and their are no D-Men left on the board I think they may be interested.
Hamilton for that pick probably gets it done since they need RH d-men desperately and have some decent forwards already plus Mittelstadt and Nylander on the way.
It would hurt to do but I would think about it as a Flames fan. Hamonic, Stone, Andersson is still pretty good RH d- depth.
My worry would be that as good as Tkachuk looked in this tourney, he's not exactly lighting it up at BU compared to other top 5 picks out of college. He has 14 points in 20 games. As a comparison Eichel had 71 in 40 GP in his draft year at BU. Matthew is probably the better Tkachuk here and Hamilton is likely an over-payment.

We'll be happy to take him with our pick (when we inevitably lose the draft lottery to not get to pick Dahlin).
