Love that Johnny pic.

To me, the Blues are due to decline some this year. Their lineup isn't quite as strong as years past, but they still have plenty of top end talent. Goaltending will always be a question mark for them, but it is for us as well at the moment.

Last game, the Flames looked a little sloppy still at times. It feels like they're still working on their game. Good thing they had another 2 days off to work on things. You know that St. Louis will always be well prepared, so they need to be strong on their systems from the puck drop tonight.

I can't stop looking at the woman in the crowd in the Monahan photo. Whatever event she thought she was agreeing to attend, this isn't it.

Tough match tonight but I think the Flames are going to up their game after losing the home opener and pull out a W.

I think this team is beatable and I agree with others, they aren't as strong as years past. I think Hamiton steps up and has a huge game defensively.

I am going with a 3-1 win, with an empty netter.

Hudler, Backlund and the EN by JG.

Hopefully Hiller solidifies himself tonight as the #1 with a strong performance.

Gio ties the game with mere seconds left, Flames win it in OT.

Would be good to get a few goals from the other lines!

so far there are 2 primary concerns i have with the flames play:

1) top 2 d pairings have been quite brutal. Concerned about the play of giordano, he definitely doesn't look like gio of the last few years. Am assuming this has to do with coming back after a serious injury, and should be mitigated by playing time, and getting back up to speed.

2) secondary scoring. outside the top line, there hasn't been consistent zone time or creating of offensive chances by the other lines.

Am really hoping the above start to get sorted, otherwise the team will be heavily reliant on PP and goaltending to have any chance against most teams.

Should be a tough game, as the blues have a solid lineup again.

Some of you are making a big deal out of nobody scoring outside the top pairing or top line. We are 2 friggin games and 4 goals into the season.

Patience.. The Flames have so much forward depth it's not even funny. The other lines will start clicking, just give it a little time.

A bit worried about this one as the Blues @ home always seems to come out on top. Calgary also looking for their first PP goal of the season.

I don't think tonight is the night. The Flames are 2-8 vs the Blues in the last 10 games. 3-1 Blues.

Last year at the beginning of the year, the Blues outclassed the Flames in every category, winning 4-1 I believe, Russell with the consolation tally.

The Flames went on to the 2nd round of the playoffs.

There can be some positives that come from losing to big talented teams, however I think the Flames are on the upswing and the Blues are on the down. Hoping for a Flames win with a goal from the top line, a goal from the D and a goal or two from secondary forwards.

Hiller still has some hockey left in the tank. He's probably not the Flames long term solution, but a very capable current goaltender in my book. Plus how can you not love his gear? He looks like Kidd or Tabaracci.

The Flames have had their issues in certain buildings like Anaheim but I don't recall a team so thoroughly dominating them in a season like the Blues did last year. I didn't think they looked all that great against the Oilers last week so hopefully the Flames can bring their level up against these guys tonight.

Wasn't Hamilton's goal a power play goal?

This is a game we need to be winning if we want to be one of the top teams this year.

They're good, but we need to be better if we want to build on last year.

Going to be a tight one. Hopefully we see a lot more of period 1 and 3 Flames from last game than the other 4 periods we've had this year.

I assume Raymond is in again? Would prefer Jooris in over Bollig though.

Hoping bennett can get his first point of the season tonight.
