Default Andrew Cogliano's 830 game ironman streak ends with 2 game suspension

Cogliano was suspended 2 games for a hit to the head of Adrian Kempe.

Yeah if Cogliano only gets 2 games then I don't see Giordano getting more than a fine.

I have been surprised lately that he has managed to play this long without getting hurt. He always plays on or accross the line and has really adopted the dick head mantra of the Ducks.

Should it really kill the Ironman streak though? He isn't hurt

They were taking about a guy on the radio , I can't remember his name. He was telling the story of how his streak ended when he was dressed and on the bench for the whole game. When he went to jump on the ice the coach held him on the bench. Seemed pretty vindictive to me, but none the less the streak ended. So if that counts to end it I would say that a suspension counts as well.

Didn't like him as an oiler, don't like him as a duck. Hopefully the league starts to realize how dirty the ducks play all the time.

That streak, as useless as it is, should be about being available to your team at a high level game in and game out. Taking a stupid penalty that leads to a suspension disqualifies you from helping your team and thus ends the streak. Seems more than fair to me.

For you folks too lazy to google (usually me but I'm 2 coffee's in now), Cogliano's Ironman streak ends at 830, good for 4th longest. For reference, J-Bo was at 737 when his ended, good for 6th longest.

here is the new active streak leaders:

Keith Yandel - 675
Patrick Marleau - 669
Phil Kessel - 654
Karl Alzner - 582

Phil believes in the 'a hot dog a day keeps the injuries away' method.

I think his mantra is: "Dont get hit."

I think the hardest he ever was hit was by Dion.

It's so prototypical for each. Kessel is slowly ambling to the bench without any effort. Dion working hard but so clueless.

Plus Dion is using that one-legged multiple pushoff that I hated when he was a Flame. That's TimBit skating technique.

On more thing about that clip. Watch Kessel's head and his hands. He looks like he's staring straight at Phaneuf but he's obviously not. And his hands come up instinctively at the last minute and actually push away, sending Dion to the ice as well. If he was holding his stick in two hands it would have wound up being a crosscheck.

JUST LIKE WIDEMAN!!!!
