Ignoring money and his attitude towards a diminished role, Frolik is a good bottom 6 player to have. He played the role well even if he didn't like it.

Are you thinking of a Dany Sabourin, or did I completely miss when we had Scott Sabourin in the org?

Last year. PTO with the Flames and played the year with the Heat.
I know, I was surprised too.

Hamilton - of course
Byron - if we didn’t have so many LWers
Ferland- if he could stay healthy
Hathaway - in a heartbeat
Baertschi - call me crazy but if he was cheaper I wouldn’t mind it, he also needs to stay healthy

Hamilton for sure with McElhinney, Kulak and Engelland strongly considered. Hypothetically would also take Byron and Hathaway on cheaper contracts and Ferland if he was healthy.

Maybe Hamilton. Maybe. Otherwise, none of them are any good to this team anymore... and some weren't any good to this team when they were here.

Engelland as a bottom pairing defender with toughness
Hamilton for his shot and PP abilities
or
Ferland if he was able to be healthy. If he is isn't healthy, then no.
Did not pick Byron because he's declined quite a bit and has a terrible contract.

Yes, Brad McCrimmon would be really nice to have. His defensive awareness, leadership, physicality, consistency would be awesome. Defensive defensemen tend to be underpaid.
And even then, he often produced 25 to 50 points. Between 1984 and 1989, he averaged about +50 per season in terms of plus/minus.
