There's a fish market in Crowfoot. Never been there, but seen signage often.
It's right by Crowfoot Liquor

There's also a decent fish/seafood market up by the Brick on Macleod Trail and Southland.

Whenever I'm in the mood for seared tuna I buy it from North Sea Fish Market's location in Willow Park. Think it's the same chain JonDuke is mentioning near Crowfoot.

I've bought fish there (not shellfish though). Quite good.

Bookers has all-you-can-eat crab Sunday and Monday nights. They lose $ on this.

lucky's in forest lawn. It is a little scary but great fresh seafood section. Good for pulled pork (pork shoulder) if you like to smoke meat.

Bought there (Willow Park location) on two occasions, their quality is very good, but you're definitely paying a premium.

North Sea Fish is run by Sue and her fiancé Dan... They have a mandate for very fresh product and do not sell bad stuff. They will look after you very well. Highly recommend.

Boyd's for Lobster on 14th Street SW, Paul and his brother Gerard also have excellent fresh seafood and are, in my opinion, the best place to get live shellfish from.

Both people sell for market rate, so it's neither overpriced or two low in my opinion. You get what you pay for. Also, when you eat a lot of seafood raw or close to raw you don't want to risk the "fresh" factor. In all cases, ask your fishmonger what's fresh today and go from that point of view. Are the mussels in season or out of season.

Consider ordering straight from the supplier.

Live lobster right from the ocean and shipped to you the same day is 10x better than the stuff you get out of a tank. If you pick it up from Air Canada Cargo yourself the price is comparable to the markets, cheaper if you order a bunch.

2 1.5 lobsters for 60$ plus shipping? Do these things need passports? How do they handle the layovers?

2 x 1.5 = 3 lbs @ 13.95 = 41.85 versus $60+$20? I will admit that there is nothing like fresh out of the ocean and have attended a seafood festival in the maritimes that was amazing, but it's got to do with the volume, turnover and management of the store.

Season of fish also has a lot to do with taste. Noticed lots of fresh halibut hitting the marketplace this week!

Ya if you're only ordering 2 then it doesn't make sense. Keep in mind that it costs pretty much the same to ship 12 as it does 2 so the cost per lobster goes down exponentially the more you order.
