A tribute to the peak of this franchise since the early '90s when Darryl was crushing it as both coach and GM.

I used to own a bar in downtown London named Dissent when I joined back in the day. It was an alternative bar that had the Nilhist Spasm band every Monday, punk night was Wednesdays, Friday and Saturday was the goth community nights, and Sunday was metal night. Some Saturdays I would bring in live bands you don't see often in these parts like Seraphim Shock, The Birthday Massacre, Project Pitchfork, KFMDM, ect. Good times.

Miikka Kiprusoff made a save a few years ago that Mike Johnson called "The Scorpion." First thing I thought of.

My favorite beer. Not fancy, but not gutter swill. One of life's simple pleasures.

My name is Mike, and I own a comic store named Phoenix Comics. When I signed up for IRC in the mid 90s, I tried to make my user name mikephoenix, but IRC had a nine character cap on usernames, so it got truncated to mikephoen. For some reason, I've just continued to use that for my online activities ever since.
In my head, it's pronounced 'mikefeen', but everyone I've ever met who saw this online has thought it was pronounced 'mike phone'.

I’m a municipal politician and certified financial planner. One election I was door knocking and a resident said you’re that money guy (I write a newspaper financial column).

I used to lurk CP. Then decided to join after watching that pre-season Oilers game where the lardo Edmonton fans were scarfing Old Dutch chips. Everyone on CP was having such a good time bashing that poorly broadcast game up North.
My tribute to ENG.
Now days I am Old and actually half Dutch. So it kind of fits.

I joined to play Starcraft with some CP members.
Two of the basic units for the race I played are called Zerglings (lings) and Roaches.

Like many fly fishermen in western Montana where the summer days are almost Arctic in length, I often do not start fishing until the cool of the evening. Then in the Arctic half-light of the canyon, all existence fades to a being with my soul and memories and the sounds of the Big Blackfoot River and a four-count rhythm and the hope that a fish will rise. Eventually, all things merge into one, and a river runs through it. The river was cut by the world's great flood and runs over rocks from the basement of time. On some of those rocks are timeless raindrops. Under the rocks are the words, and some of the words are theirs. I am haunted by waters. - Norman Maclean

Some guys in University thought I played hockey like Slava Kozlov and started calling me Slava as a result. Seemed appropriate when I signed up, although now no one (save for a couple CPers) call me that. My hockey skills have probably declined along with Kozlov though!
