3 shutouts at already, we really overrated the offence of this team. Outside of Gaudreau there aren't much game breaking ability there offensively.

You know with all the gliding I see going on in their own zone they should have plenty of energy... try skating to the puck you guys you might actually beat the other team to it once in a while. Serious lack of motor on this team some nights.

Missed opportunities is the story here. If the Flames actually hit the net or buried their chances it is a different game. Then they try for the perfect play instead of shooting...not that they can hit the net anyway.

Not IMO. Are the Flames capable of playing better? Yes. Is Smith going to play worse? I don't think so. He may have an off night, but he seems so solid.

Carolina has had substantially more quality scoring chances than Calgary

Rumors of the Oilers demise were greatly overstated, their PDO was 930 or something through the first five games. Meanwhile I don't think Flames have had a positive Corsi for all season. One team is looking due to get better, the other due to get worse.
