And they're even in goal differential.

I love how we are tied in points with the Soilers after a less than stellar start to the season. Very much looking forward to their continual drop in the standings!

Mike Smith can pull off a few games here and there, but Oilers aren't winning anything with him as the goalie long term. So glad he's off our team and no longer our problem.

And its not like Koskinen has shown he can be starter either.

It's funny how the general perception is that the Oilers have entered the season like world beaters while the Flames have struggled. Still they have the same amount of points. It will be so great to follow the annual sinking of the Oilers over the upcoming weeks while the Flames keep picking up speed.

A few plays, in particular, stood out, with Blues defenceman Vince Dunn grabbing McDavid’s arm and with St. Louis forward Ryan O’Reilly repeatedly slashing at McDavid as he tried to steak up the ice to join an attacking play late in the match.

====

Any time you try to steak up the ice, you should expect slashes. Hungry players gotta eat!

Maybe the NHL should reserve certain lanes on the ice for Connor McDavid, where you can not touch him ever. There he can make his crossovers in peace, Oiler fans everywhere can just keep fawning over him endlessly and he can bask in the glory of his divine speed. And then you can put those safe lanes outside of the boards, and the the rest of the league can just keep playing hockey.

Amazing how we never heard anything about this blatant mistreatment of poor Connor and Leon when the clown show was winning hockey games. Now that the shine has come off the turd their fanboy media has to start dreaming up excuses. Wash, rinse, repeat!! Every freaking year!!!

Edmonton and the Oilers never wash so there is no need for rinsing.

It's like no other skilled player in the league ever gets interfered with. Amazing.

I can't believe that they even have Friedman locked into the Oilers are awesome and should be given an easy life.

"If I’m the Oilers, I’m saying to the NHL, ‘These are two of the best offensive players, and there’s no way one-on-one anybody is going to be able to stop them legally. We need these plays to be power plays for us.’

So basically they are so good, no one is at a level to be able to stop them and therefore anyone within a 2 foot distance should automatically be assessed a penalty. Excuse me while I go and puke.

The NHL deal hasn't been a boon for RSN. They badly want McDavid in the playoffs but I still can't believe Friedman said that. I would expect that from someone new to covering the NHL.

In his head "but I'm not the Oilers so I wouldn't make such a dumb argument".

MCDavid literally leads the league in penalties drawn. Still they complain.

You are allowed to bump and check a player with the puck, BTW.
