The gudbranson hit set the tone and then his beat down of Hamonic sealed it. The young Canucks player with no fear knowing they had the toughest guy behind them and the Flames played like pussies fumbling thenpuck and giving it away blindly.

Toughness matters.

Flames: Good on paper
Peters: Multiple choice question test at end of game.

Everyone wins.

Brodie coming back to get pucks on the PP is infuriating. He's so lackadaisical sitting behind the net taking his time with no urgency at all. He makes me want to throw things.

Just got back from the game.

Enjoyed 5 minutes of the first.

Enjoyed 8 minutes of the third.

Waste of time and money. Fool me once ...

If Hamonic misses any time, Prout likely draws in. Would be nice to see him kick Gudbranson's ass on Saturday.

I quit smoking a year ago, but I’m about to light my 5th mini cigar. I’m going to cough my brains out as punishment for watching that!

Agreed - if I were bennett, if I'm not moved up the line up within the next 5-10 games, I'd be asking for a trade. Like seriously, what the #### kind of player usage is this?

Oh, this could be a fun idea. Let me have a go.

Put Hanifin on the PP and let him skate it in.

I’m not gonna opine about Bennett anymore, not worth the time on this forum of people who think he’s worse than yakupov at this point.

Lindholm just hasn’t looked like anything special so far, preseason or game 1

Still just 1 game but not encouraging to see the same crap effort and results

what does it accomplish though? the Canucks are fast team and having a Prout in just to send a message just helps the Canucks.

Guddy is no push over either, he's a 6'5 218 lbs dude.

They already fought before.

0-7.

Our PP philosophy of “get it down low and bang it in” doesn’t work when the four defenders just collapse in front.

I really think PP units need to be free to change systems on the fly. If they box out, then get it down low and bang away at it. If they collapse, cycle Johnny behind the net to feed it back to Neal and Gio on the points, and move Monny and Chucky to the outside for the rebounds.

Static PP formation = static PK formation and being down a man doesn’t mean much when everything is predictable.

One game. Vancouver worked their ares off and played a good game. Bottom line the longer you let a team like that stick around the more confidence they get. Lots to work on going forward, but I hope the sky doesn't fall every loss.
We've been down the it's only one game, it's only 10 games into the season, half a season to play, still time to make the playoffs etc. how many times now?

The reason tonight’s game felt familiar: the top minute getters/core of this team haven’t changed since last season. Going on the powerplay so early in the game prevented Peters from rolling all 4 lines to get the bench engaged and team speed in. Unfortunately Monahan and Gaudreau don’t have a strong forecheck or push the pace of the game, so if their not putting the other team on their heels with wizard goals the momentum is swaying back & forth.
I believe after a couple periods of 5on5 where we see the ‘balance’ of all 4 lines bringing different looks will validate the optimism we fans feel about this roster.

On another note, who would you say has the highest hockey IQ on the team right now, and what about trying that combination on the PP? (...Tkachuk, Gaudreau, Gio, Hanafin, Dube??)
