Really? I saw a couple movies there last year, and not only were the seats the same-old, same-old, there were several that had obviously been broken so badly they just removed them entirely rather than attempt to fix them.

True North?
IIRC it's been in there for a while now. Storefronts are their thing, which is why there are a bunch downtown.
The idea was to have a friendly, non-overwhelming experience when getting a mortgage where you walk in and talk to someone rather than having a bank push an agent to you.
I've been using their services for about 15 years now, best service and rates.

I picked this up at the thrift shop yesterday for $1 just because the jacket was cool.

This is inside Toys R Us btw. It's rather odd and a bit sad but TRU Canada is trending more toward books and media now that it was bought by the parent company of Sunrise Records (which owns the HMV rights in Canada).

Correct me if I'm wrong, Sunridge Toys R Us' HMV kiosk book section is the only book 'store' in the NE after Chapters closed.
Until Putnam buys Chapters/Indigo after it goes belly up haha.

Better than the building sitting there unused I suppose, but the majority of us will never be able to afford or use it. On a related note, annual reminder, too, that the west end of downtown desperately needs a public, multi-use recreation centre.
