I woulda paid that. Not like it was Hoffman himself doing the crazy stuff.

I hate that this makes the Sharks better. Another 30g scorer added to the division while the Flames have yet to do anything. Hopefully off ice issues aren't blown out of proportion and that team blows up

SJ trade a player they didn't want AND get a really good goal scorer back?

Unreal trade for them. Boedker basically has negative value with that contract.

Also, as far as I know, there has never been any indication that Hoffman was a problem in the locker room until this incident, which isn't even on him, it's on his girl. Which still hasn't even been proven.
Brouwer still has a full NTC until July 1st. Highly doubtful he waives to go to the mess that is the Ottawa Senators. Even after it switches to a 15 team no trade list, got to think the Senators will still be there.

I think the Sharks miss the playoffs. Hoffman will put up points and help that PP, but he is a terrible two way player who will drive DeBoer crazy, and Kane will be disaster on his new contract.

I really doubt that the Sens would have been accepting of Brouwer as part of the return for Hoffman.

Am I missing something about Hoffman? Decent player, but is he anything more than a dime-a-dozen middle six winger?

Just can't see what all the hand-wringing is about here.

Another good point but the all mighty sureLoss!!!!

No point in comparing Boedker and Brouwer in this trade as it just isn't feasible!

Sharks have missed the playoffs once in around 12 or 13 years.

On ice product with this trade really improves...

Hoffman has the upside to score 30 goals.

Media will be none existent in San Jose, perfect location.

Starting to look like Hoffmann girlfriend is a evil genius. As punishment they are traded out of the mess that is the senators.they are now traded to nice sunny California , where the new team is a contender for division title.

Before anybody replies thinking this is a serious post..... this is a joke.

Default Sens trade Hoffman, Donaghey, 5th to SJS for Boedker, Bergman, 6th

If he’s a dime a dozen middle six winger, why don’t we have one? On an atrocious team (the Sens) he still put up 22 goals, which would have been 3rd on our team.

Dreger now saying Ottawa is listening on Zack Smith. That seems like the type of “high character” move we should expect to see, I imagine.

Fourth, actually. But yeah, a guy who consistently scores 20 is a little better than "dime a dozen".

The Hoffman situation is tough, because while he would have helped us on the ice, that baggage just turns everything into a grenade you're just playing doesn't go off.

As a part time sharks fan, the problem is up the middle. Thornton (unsigned and injured), Couture (one year left at 6m), and Hertl (converted winger) plus pavelski able to take some draws.

But they only added an extra 1mm in cap to get Hoffman (huge upgrade).

Hopefully they trade Karlsson soon and with the mess and not wanting to wait through a rebuild Mark Stone holds out on a new contract and will demand to be traded with a request to play with his brother.

I was hoping he’d go to the oilers so his wife would troll mcdavid into leaving

Holy overreaction. I wasn’t aware that Hoffman was the last remaining option for the Flames to add scoring punch.

Just be thankful they didn’t trade for EK and likely won’t sign JT now.

lots of overreaction here. Also don't get the "we could have offered ..." posts - with the Flsmes' focus on character, they wouldn't have touched Hoffman with a ten-foot pole.
