I won’t be watching the next episode. I was bored after episode 2. Don’t know how I made it 4 in.

I agree that mcmillions has really lost some momentum. They really need to spend more time on how Uncle Jerry got his hands on these pieces and how he hid what he was doing.
I’m not really feeling a ton of sympathy for the people that profited from getting the game pieces. The smallest bit of common sense would tell you something is wrong. And most, if not all, explicitly knew this was theft. This wasn’t somebody buying a car they find out later was stolen. This is somebody telling you they have a stolen car to sell you and that’s why it’s so cheap.

I think intrinsically we all get that, I think what they're doing is trying to show is that for some of these people its portrayed as their only hope to 'get ahead.'
It does help their scheme that for the most part they're sticking with low-income, low-education, low-hope individuals.
Like that one woman who thought to do some basic math based on the fee structure laid out by the Mafioso who realized that after paying the criminals their cut, paying the taxes and paying the increase to her mortgage for the up-front cash she was left with basically nothing.
And then inexplicably decides to do it anyways.
Watching her describing handing off the money by the side of the road was both incredibly sad but dumbfounding at the same time.
"I'm going to engage in a crime for little to no personal gain!"
What? Why? Tell them to pound sand or pay you more or you go the Cops.

I'm enjoying The Outsider. I wasn't sure after the first 3 episodes if I was going to stick with it but I'm glad I did.

This could probably go in a few places but I'm excited for this news.
Last of Us would make for a great TV series.

Just started season 2 of The Chi. Had watched season 1 a while ago and forgot about it until scrolling through Crave shows last night.

I have a bit more faith in this with the creators of the game being on board. They're incredible storytellers.

No real reason why, But I feel like tv shows are going to be a much more successful platform for video game stories than movies were
Allows way more world building
Witcher is the best example of that

I stumbled upon this today. It’s old but I’d never read it before. I don’t think.
Oral History of the Sopranos.
Quote:
STEVEN SCHIRRIPA (Bobby “Bacala” Baccalieri): I had been working as entertainment director at the Riviera in Las Vegas. When I got the script, I remember reading it going, Wait a minute. I mean, Tony’s calling me “a calzone with legs,” and “Consider salads, you fat ####.” And I’m not that much bigger than him. So at first I thought, Maybe they cast the wrong guy? And then they had me come in a day or two early and they fitted me for a fat suit. And for the first two seasons I was in a fat suit. And then I guess, in Season Four, David thought I was fat enough on my own, so he let me get rid of it.

I finished The Outsider tonight. Pretty good but for me, lost some momentum. Some great actors in the show which made it so easy to watch.
Anyone else notice they called the final episode a “season finale”?

The Outsider definitely lost some steam as the season went on (similar to the book) but I still enjoyed it. Ben Mendelsohn continues to be one of my favourite actors though.

McMillions had a fairly predictable and unsatisfying ending.

I didn't read the book so I don't have a reference but to me it seems like it was too long by an episode or two. The last episode was a little disappointing but overall it was pretty good.

HBO/Crave
I am going to catch up on the rest of Kidding and then check out The Leftovers. The pilot was confusing, but it has potential.

Ok, Avenue 5 really grew on me, and the season finale was brilliant.
