Travelling next week.

What the latest and greatest...

Mostly concerned with getting to the Hotel from the Airport to start.

I took cab to and from airport. Seemed like the easiest thing. Cost about $50 CAD.

For everything else, used the subway. It's a fantastic system.

For paid tours, I did the cathedral, the basilica, then a walking tour. The rest was just relaxing and bar hopping and I had a great time.

I'm going in a couple of weeks. My plan is the Aerobus to/from the airport/hotel and then metro/transit while i am there.

Ya, the Aerobus was easy and cheap for us, but it will all depend where your hotel is as to what makes the most sense for you. If you get off the train or bus and then have to take a taxi, it's probably easier to do that from the airport. We were able to walk from the bus stop.

We took the Aerobus. That was super easy and convenient. Probably no more than 15 mins.

Would depend where your hotel is mind you and if the Aerobus stops are convenient. You could always switch to the metro for the rest of the way.

Aerobus is at Terminal 2A (Westjet landed at 2C, and it's a short walk outside) but in 2A at the Tourism Info desk we picked up some 3 day Barcelona Cards which includes a 72hr Hola card which gets you unlimited metro/trams, free admission or discounts to many tourist sites.

We're under three weeks from Barcelona as well. So far the only thing we have booked for sure is an FC Barcelona match, I'm not hugely football knowledgeable but the energy and spectacle should be cool. If anyone has any tips for the match, that would be great. Camp Nou is under renovation this year so the match is at Estadio Olympico. We have free tickets to the museum at Camp Nou, not sure if it is worth the side trip.

Thanks to all who have posted in the thread, lots of good info.

European club football matches are something else, you will have a blast no matter what. Sucks that it won't be at the big stadium, but there's always next time.

Tips for the match?

1. Sit as close as you can to the supporter section.
2. Get liquored up before the match so you aren't wasting time at vendors.
3. Don't be a contrarian and start cheering for the other team. Although hooliganism is not what it used to be, you still might get beat up.
