Not true obviously, but it sometimes feels like it.
You aren't wrong. Your instincts were correct.

For the team, he prepares five-minute highlight reels on the opposing netminder and these run on a loop in the dressing room before games. He also produces pre-scout sheets, which indicate how goals are scored against enemy starters, in addition to their strengths and weaknesses.

Sorry, i had 29th before but that was last year and it is actually 24th this year in shooting %.

Everyone seems to throw in their own perceptions without data. Here is some data below... It's not about a bad game, Carey Price, or familiarity with your home team. I think the data below clearly shows we make other goalies look better.

Flames rank as per NHL.com and hockey reference:
- 5th in shots for per game
- 18th in goals for per game
- 24th in team shooting %

Also if you look at NHL.com shooting% and number of shots by flames players, not surprisingly as most of you have already pointed out, there isn't much scoring outside of the top 5 players. There's a lot of talk about depth on this team but no evidence of it. This thread was intended to be about addressing scoring throughout the lineup not a goalie debate but I admittedly did a bad job in naming the title.

29th in shooting % does say a lot.

It does seem like they are getting more chances and I believe the stats that Bingo tracks has them usually winning the high danger chances battle.

But 24th tells you the team lacks finishers. Which kind of matches what you see most nights too as they outplay the opposition a lot.

So with average goaltending, and assuming the shooting percentage reflects the talent on the team, can we expect the team to win by essentially outchancing the competition most nights? Hopefully.

Well.. at least we made Kostkinen, Malcolm Subban, Connor Hellebuyck and Laurent Brossoit look like chumps. That is a good start.
