Any recommendations on winter boots for fatbiking (prefer not sport specific but multipurpose if possible)?

cral - I use a pair of north face snow jogger type boots similar to this

For me they work pretty well with flat pedals, and they are roomy enough to allow for a medium weight sock. I use race face Chester pedals which are composite, so perhaps are slightly warmer that metal pedals.

Lastbyera I considered buying a pair of Louis garnering boots, but the fit was narrow at the ankle, they were hard to get on, but super comfy when on.

i have embraced flats for my mtn bike and my fat bike and could never see switching.

It seems to be a crap shoot to see if I get it on the first time for the clips. but worst case I just ride for a bit with one clipped in and the other onthe flat until I can do the quick flip and clip.



Just love not always having to wear my cycling shoes.

I passed 1000km of cycling yesterday. Pretty happy with that. Not close to Bigtime's 5000km, but I only started in May and I've got a shorter commute.

I've got an earlier incarnation of this boot and can vouch for it 100%

I've got cycling-specific cleated winter shoes, but when things get really gnarly I wear these - they work great with my reversible pedals

It's an awesome milestone no matter what, I'm spoiled because of my longer commute allowing me to make 100km+ weeks achievable without big weekend rides. Realistically I think this year may set the benchmark for how many km's I can get in a year mainly commuting. Sitting at 5243 as of this morning, I think I may get close to 6000 when it is all said and done.

I've had a poor year for what I had planned for. I need to get my knee and hip issues fixed (which they will probably do on their own when I lose 20 lbs). I will get barely half of my goal this year (I was shooting for 10,000). Should hit 5000 in the next week or so.

I have the day off of work today and I was hoping to get out of the fattie and enjoy the new pow, but hard to get fired up about a ride with this wind.

I turn west briefly to go around the power lines at the end of The Winston and nearly got blown over by a gust. I got to draft an eBike until Fox Hollow and then had to face the full fury of that headwind. I'm exhausted, and it certainly has something to do with all the Scotch I drank last night followed by beer.

I had a glorious tail wind all the way in. Not looknig forward to the ride home.

CSN Whisky Night but there was a lot of cursing about Smith from a lot of people.

Logged my first 50k on my fat bike over the past two days....man I miss the tight handling of my Thunderbolt and my commuter.....that front tire always looks so massive for the first few weeks......

A lot better ride in today than I expected. I lost sleep over the amount of ice that I was thinking would be there. A bit of a non event.

A real mixed bag of conditions out there this morning. Side streets were super soft sinking snow making it hard to move at all. Pathways were cleared/plowed but there were lots of hard packed and icy parts still on the pathway. The pedestrian bridge by the curling club hadn't been touched (which is insane as I believe it is still the busiest ped bridge into the core) and was a completely bumpy/snowy/icy mess. Fox Hollow hill gets a lot of sun, so with it being cleared it was gloriously bare and dry.
