I had to go back and look at what happened. A whole bunch of penalties handed out today, but couldn't easily figure out why. Maybe some things got deleted.

Or just too much negativity in general?

What if they believe Smith is a better option than Rittich, for a reason?

Troubling.
The only reason that comes to mind is that they are actually afraid of Rittich turning into a one year starter in a season when his contract expires and he is eligable for arbitration. Maybe they think he is gonna turn into Petr Mrazek after he gets the big money. Wings probably dodged the bullet when they gave Mrazek a bridge contract. He was 92% guy with Vezina upside, 2 seasons later he is playing his way out of this league with 88%. Still better than Smith

Maybe cause there are already two Smith lynch mobbing threads growing like wildfire and the mods are trying to keep this Calgarypuck not Calgarybitchandmoanaboutsmith.

The Montreal game is over. The sun came up again and a misinterpretation of who was starting and people are losing their damn minds and ready to kick puppies off of bridges lol. It's just a little bit excessive no?

I don't blame them for wanting to restore some peace and civil conversation by cutting a few of the heads off the snake.

Just to be clear. Those suspensions came from something completely unrelated to hockey.

Muricah brought them down.

Nothing brought them down but themselves.

Im glad the second line is being kept together. Give Bennett at least 5-6 games to gel with them. If it works out maybe we can move down Backlund and Bring Lindholm down to the second line centre and put Neal up on the top line.

Gaudreau-Monahan-Neal
Tkachuk-Lindholm-Bennett
x-Backlund-x
How does that look? Gives us some good centre depth.

I keep reading all these post's about moving Neal up to the top line. I don't get it. He has scored 3 goals this season and 1 assist. 2 of the goals were not on shots/garbage. He has one goal on a real shot all season in a period where we blew up the other team. Why on earth would you move him up to the top line and in the process break it up?

Lindholm has sniped all his chances that Neal could not. I do think that Janko, Dube and Neal could make a great line. Dube is fast, Janko is long with his stick and better at passing than shooting and Neal is a sniper. Could be a great 3rd line. Here's to hope!

At some point i'd like to see:

Gaudreau-Monahan-Neal/Bennett
Tkachuk-Backlund-Lindholm
Dube-Janko-Neal/Bennett

Monahan and Gaudreau have shown they can produce with just about anyone on their wing and I think that second line would give us a legit second scoring line and create some match up fits for the opposition. Might be best to try on the road where we don't have last change.

If Rittich beats the Oil Smith better not see the net until after he either has a really bad game or maybe Dec 8 against Nashville because it's the first of a back to back with the Oil on the 9th

I really want to see this line as well, I guess I wanted all 3 players to succeed.

Absolutely. Neal might be a finisher but he has to keep up to his teammates on the ice in order to receive something to finish. Don't think he can do that with Gaudreau and Monahan, at least not on a consistent basis. Personally I think Lindholm has made Neal expendable.

It is beginning to sound like Neal is getting the benefit of the doubt in hopes that he works himself out of his slump.

Time to start producing or else just put Neal in comments some have made about Smith being able to turn it around.

I like it, I'd rather have Jankowski given a shot on the second line, Backlund hasn't been great as the second line center.

Gaudreau-Monahan-Lindholm
Tkachuk-Jankowski-Bennett
Frolik-Backlund-Neal
Dube-Ryan-Hathaway/Czarnik
