ARK: Survival Evolved is free on the Epic store, is it worth getting?

Well it's best to base it off USD...CAD was in much better shape when the PS4 came out. Sony really hit gold with the $399 USD price point with the PS4 launch and I think they will try to make that work again.
So my guess will be all digital version is $399 USD, and version with the disk drive will be $499 USD.
So that works out to something like ~$550 CAD, and ~$700 CAD probably.

GT7
Ratchet and Clank
Project Aithia
Stray
Returnal
Sack Boy: A Big Adventure
Destruction Allstars (Twisted Metal meets Rocket League meets Fortnite...sign me up)
Kena: Bridge of Spirits
Goodbye Volcano High
Oddworld Soulstorm
Ghostwire: Tokyo
Jett: The Far Shore
Godfall
Solar Ash
Hitman 3
Astro's Playroom
Little Devil Inside
NBA 2K21
Bugsnax
Demon's Souls
Deathloop
RE8: Village
Pragmatia
Horizon: Forbidden West
Great variety and mixture here.
Also I personally really love the look of the console, especially the all digital edition. They did show a quick glimpse of it sitting horizontal for those worrying that it was vertical only.

Highlighted the stuff I'm interested in. I thought it was a fantastic presentation of next-gen games, a great mix of sequels and new IP that all look like a lot of fun. Not sure what's up with the few wet sandwiches in this thread.

The console itself looks pretty nice even if it looks like it was designed by the same people that designed Rogers Place. The games look just okay as Horizon 2 looks like the only killer app. Launch games are largely forgetful anyway as it usually takes a year before the real next gen games start trickling in.

If I were to pre-order a PS5 today the new Spider-Man and Horizon would be the two games I would get based on what's been announced so far.
RE:8 looks cool but I'll get that on PC and as far as Hitman goes I still haven't finished the first one. lol

I'm glad Hitman 3 and RE:8 have been announced. Hitman is such an under-rated series IMO

Super stoked for Spider-man and Horizon.
Any idea if this Miles Morales Spider-man is supposed to be a sequel or a spin off?

Y'all sleeping on Ratchet & Clank. That whole series is awesome and this one looks fantastic, some of the technical things that gameplay was doing are astounding.
Look at this, these are in game!

Games look just okay, get outta here.

Are any of these games going to run at 60 FPS even if it's at 1080P. The only one I know for sure running at 60 FPS is Gran Turismo 7. I want framerate over 4K.

How many people have TVs that run at higher than 60 Hz?

I think both of my plasmas claim a 96hz refresh rate, but I don't think they can actually accept anything over 60.

I think that’s what’s going to be changing the experience from here on forward.”

Considering GT7 is a major title for Sony, they would probably support higher refresh rates. however the major problem is with some of the tv's out there that don't support high refresh rates.
I used rtings to help judge what my next tv was going to be.

My LG C9 will display 120fps but most won’t. Hopefully that changes but I’m guessing it’ll be another generation before it’s the norm.
It needs HDMI 2.1. Any word which version is in the PS5?

got NHL 20 for 17 bucks and I find the online play almost impossible to enjoy. I swear to crhist its like playing the Canucks every game with the constant ####ing diving. Every poke check a guy flies thru the air or grabs his ####ing hands.,

Ah, see, a lot of new players make that mistake. That's actually not the "poke check" button. It's the "take a penalty" button. Easy to get confused about that.

Review for The Last of Us Part II is in and it's getting 9's and 10's. Looking forward to playing it but I can't justify spending $80 on new games anymore even if it's another Naughty Dog masterpiece.

Boy Gamespot sure has been hard on games. It's like they go out of their way to score games lower than everyone else. 80 seems like a low score although reading through various reviews it appears there's a consensus that it's a little more violent and bleak than it needed to be.

Confirmed that Spider-man: Miles Morales is an expansion and not a new game. So it will probably be included with a PS5 full version of Spider-man.
Quote:
"I guess you could call it an expansion and an enhancement to the previous game. There’s a substantial Miles Morales component – which is the expansion element – but also within the game as well there’s been major enhancements to the game and the game engine, obviously deploying some of the major PlayStation 5 technology and features.”

Sure are a lot of remakes for a new console launch. I suppose the costs of making games are so high right now that it's probably more of a recipe to make money by simply putting a fresh coat of paint on a successful seller than invest in a new IP. I love Demon Souls but I'm not going to shell out $80 for a hi-res remake.
