Default Finshed a Game? Save Your Progress as a Comic Book!

On Monday we read about the possibility of Apple choosing AMD's Fusion Processor for Apple TV to boost gaming. Today we've learnt from a new Apple patent that a wild new application could be in development that would record your personal journey through a video game like Mass Effect and then give you the option of turning it into a custom comic or ibook when you're done playing. What a phenomenal idea.

I think it's pretty cool. It's not something I would want with every game of course, but there are quite a few games out there with a pretty significant storyline to them. It would be great to be able to re-read it all when you're done... and not just the "official" version of the story, but your version, affected by the decisions and encounters you played through in the game.

I would imagine it was more shock than bafflement.

I guess I can see the point you guys are making. There is probably not a lot of people out there who read comic books and play video games.

Did you mean to use green font here?

Unless you are referring to poser gamers that only play CoD on their 360 wearing their $400 Ed Hardy socks.

Ooh I can't wait, the ladies will be lining up to read about my fascinating exploits and then - with any luck - to reward the author with sexytime.

You read this post and the most confusing thing you find is the term "poser gamer"? Personally I am baffled that $400 socks exist in a form that someone who games would be interested in wearing them.

Apple gamers are special people. That explains this.

Right. I haven't touched a comic book in 20 years, while you're one of the biggest comic book nerds on this site.

Special people, indeed.

I assume everybody that plays CoD religiously think they are the best at FPS, but in reality, CoD auto-aims for you so there is no real challenge as the learning curve is something a 6 year old could pick up.

I play CoD quite a bit, really enjoy it, and am fairly good at it. I guess I should apologize for not being super awesome like you??? Good grief......

so the comic book will entail you playing the video game, turning it off, scratching your butt, fapping, going to sleep, fapping, turning thevideo game back on?

If you wanted to re-live the videogame experience why not just replay the game? Then again, I'm one of those guys that just doesn't understand comic books for adults.

Not such a terrible idea. Games like Dragon Age already took automatic screenshots at various story points/epic fights, which is kinda cool after you beat the game, and go back to see stuff that you did 70-80 hours ago (or weeks ago in real time). This just takes it a step further by linking it together.

I probably won't spend money on something like this, but if it was just something to browse automatically after finishing a game it wouldn't be too bad.

Oh it's fine if you play it a lot, I'm just saying the community of players you see online give themselves quite the reputation. Guess if you played MAG for PS3 you would understand more. 128 players online and no auto-aim brings out a lot of crying from CoD "pros"

Here's a demonstration of how exciting static screenshots of playing a videogame are and just how dynamic and exciting it would be to re-live your exploits sitting on a couch could be in this medium.

You seriously need to go into apple detox. Every time you make a thread about apple and someone says anything that isn't absolute praise and worship for apple you seem to take it to offense, and desperately back whatever the thread's about.
