Boxing Day Sales [MRG]
Post the deals HERE!
Ok... quick question. I'm looking for a new TV on boxing day... I know that futureshop has some good deals, and I've been looking at:
http://boxingday.redflagdeals.com/in.../category/C42/
Now....
My question is... do I have to go to the store? Or can I just log in and buy it online?
If I do have to go there... do they have like a first come first serve? or is it a lottery type deal?

Those ones say they are "Web Only" deals, so you can only get them online.
Both Future Shop and Best Buy start their online Boxing Day sales at 8pm EST (6pm Calgary) on Christmas Eve (today).
In past years, their servers have become very bogged down very quickly and that was when the sales started at midnight EST.
I've never tried to buy any of their big-ticket/limited stock items but I have bought smaller things. You'll definitely want to be signed up with all of your information stored in their system to help the check out process, and you're still not guaranteed that it'll go off without a hitch.
Just like trying to buy Flames or concert tickets at the moment they go on sale, don't give up if it says the item is sold out because if a person cancels a transaction (or loses their connection) the stock will be re-released.

Future Shop surprisingly does not have any deals that really interest me this year.

Isn't there an HD-DVD player for $99? That seems pretty decent.

ha, Im guessing half of Canada will be converging on that HD-DVD (it was even mentioned on engadget.com. It's a hell of a deal, but good luck getting one...
One note of warning....most of the cheap big ticket items are usually older models. If you don't care about being edge, it can be a great deal, just make sure those tv's have the technology you need.

Bestbuy.ca Boxing Day Sale @ 6pm local time
Online only sale, I got a nice 30" Samsung Tube HDTV for $599 last year.
I got a nice shiny $100 gift card for XMas so I plan to be there.

It's the A-3, which is basically the lowest end model Toshiba makes. Just be aware that its top ability is 1080i, and not 1080p. It might not make a difference to most, but people should realize that 1080p is what's considered full HD. Either way, still a great deal.

Watch the Future Shop servers crash hard at 6:00PM. It'll be lots of luck and some patience when it comes to getting the HD-DVD player.
