How long is the campaign?

I am interested in checking this game out but I only ever play single player. Wondering if the $80 is worth it or if I should wait for a sale.

I've got about 3-4 hours in it and am almost done the second of 5 stories, if they're all the same length then 8-10 hours for the whole single player campaign maybe. There's some things to find so there's probably a little replayability but not as much as in some other games.

Single player only I don't think I'd spend $80, wait or borrow it from someone.

Well I can't get online to the servers and haven't been able to since last night. Hopefully they resolved this soon.

Maybe part of the huge DDoS that was going on today? Lots of things were offline or in rough shape, I can get online ok.

Though they didn't fix whatever makes it resize all my windows every time I launch the game, it's like it changes my desktop resolution to 800x600 before launching the game. Did it in the beta, just did it to me now.

Yeah that DDoS slammed a lot of large servers, including those belonging to Twitter, Shop.com, Playstation Network, and Spotify.

Also it half-crippled my employees productivity because ZenDesk was also down and now we're having email forwarding issues. Thanks Russia.

holy eff is that a good game. the graphics and the experience are amazing. Reminds me of a combo of BF1942 and BF Vietnam.

BF1 rules and I'm happy to say I still lock down Top 5 every game.

That is all. PM me if you don't already have me on Origin to play WW1 funtimes.

I'll add some of you guys when I get better haha. I used to be so good at PC shooters but haven't played one regularly since the first Modern Warfare

I played a lot yesterday (on PS4), and agree that is pretty great. Awesome map diversity with some cool gimmicks. Though I wish the fog was a little more rare.

The biggest challenge I have in this game (which carries over from the beta) is finding a gun that is good for multiple types of encounters. Obviously the sniper rifles are tops from any distance, the medic rifles cover the middle distance, and the smgs are good for up close. But in any map, there will be times when you don't quite have the right gun for the engagement. In BF4 you could get an assault rifle or carbine that could mow people down up close and up to 100m away. It seems in BF1 that you have to really play the map to your weapon strengths. I think this will factor in heavily with squad based play. The scout hangs back a bit while the other members clear the apartment, tower, etc. then the scout goes up to the window to peg a few guys heads across the square.

I used to play and love the call of duty single player campaign. Is it comparable to that? Should one buy this for single player? I have an Xbox One but I don't have Live.

I'm enjoying the single player campaign, more than I've enjoyed some of the CoD ones (though it's not as good as some of the best CoD single player campaigns).

But I'm not sure I'd buy it just for that, not at full price anyway.

EDIT: It's not one long overarching story, it's split up into a half dozen smaller story arcs that each follow a different person in a different area. Which makes sense rather than try and figure out why one soldier is in Italy and then in Arabia and then flying a plane in WWI.
