First, it's 'loses'.
Second, probably won't change anything. The rules said first or second year pro. Valimaki is still a pro, even if he's injured.

Zagidulin can also go to the ECHL. Gillies is the only prospect who has any NHL experience, if there is an injury.

I can't remember: What was his injury last year? I tried googling and got the "lower body injury".

Fingers crossed medical improvements and a 6 week head start get Valimaki on the ice before mid-season.

IIRC it was a high ankle sprain.

Recovery will also depend on the type of reconstruction, although his age will be a positive factor. My first ACL tear took 8 months or so to get back into things, my second took nearly 2 years (happened 15 years apart).

We're seeing this a lot more with young athletes. Kids play hockey year round and are one sport athletes at an early age. Your body can only do so much. Needs rest and different movements from other sports. On top of physical injuries like this you have to avoid mental burnout as well.
When I played WHL in 1990s you never saw this. We had no spring hockey and we all played different spring sports until 14 or 15 before we committed to just hockey. Even then you had most of your spring off after playoffs then didn't start training until mid summer at earliest. June and July were non-hockey months for most players. Now you have 10 year old kids going 10-11 months a year.
We'll see these injuries continuing.

Well, this sucks. But it gives Kylington a space on the roster to develop and hopefully thrive. So there's that? I would guess Brodie is completely off the trade market now.

Well all that aside, guys train 10 times harder now than the 90's. Thats probably far more of a contributing factor than playing too much hockey.

Holy mackerel. You really need to explain this weird hate-on you have for Kylington, it's officially getting weird

Easy explanation: he gets a reaction every time he makes one of these posts, so he keeps making them.

Fingers and toes crossed he gets a January return, which then makes Brodie expendable for the deadline. That would be the best case scenario here.

Thanks for the loses/looses correction. I hate spelling.
I just checked NHL.com for the expansion rules from the Vegas draft and it says 1st and 2nd year pros are exempt. Maybe this will be a blessing in disguise?
https://www.nhl.com/goldenknights/ne...es/c-289403076
“All first- and second-year professionals, as well as all unsigned draft choices, will be exempt from selection (and will not be counted toward their club's applicable protection limits).”
