The guy is a Captain of the team. This kind of stuff is high school. Don't approve.
Also, I was actually at Rexall for the injury and McD was pushing himself outside the limits of his capability to generate offence. It was a bad play on his part. He exposed himself. If you look at the video he is trying to take a run on the goaltender and got taken to the boards.
Good defence to drive him to the outside. Nothing intentional except for his own belief in his ability.

The funny thing is that McDavid could have scored a ton of leadership points had he dropped the gloves with Manning (and didn't get his face smashed in). Iginla would have done it. So would Ovie, Toews... heck, even Sid's been in a few scraps over his career.
Instead, he probably remembers the last time he tried to fight in juniors (and broke his hand); also, McDavid is waaay more valuable on the ice than Manning. Not saying fighting him would have necessarily been the right decision, but whining about Manning not fighting his teammates was the wrong one.
McBaby really showed his weakness. He has a problem with a guy then fight him youself instead of acting like a pampered pre-madonna and bitching to the media. ####ing tattletale. He is going to be chirped so hard by guys around the league. Sweet justice they lost that game. The chrip of F### you you ####ing b#### followed by calling the opponent classless is going to cause a lot of crap for him in the future. P###y.

Here in Vancouver, I was driving my kids to school and was listening to that imbecile David Pratt on the TEAM 1040 champion McTurtle's comments as a "coming of age." He called his injury from last year the result of a cheap shot from Manning, and lauded the messiah for doing the right thing and standing up for himself. That's right: brave, grown-up McSnivel made an impressive show of his leadership acumen by standing in front of cameras to complain about a year-old incident, Manning's comments, and how he wouldn't fight someone else on his team.
