I am thinking of doing this but can't wrap my head around how the remote is going to control the equipment in a different room. But I've seen it done. IR detectors? One of those all in one remotes?
my receiver has an IR output on it I assume it's so you can plug in an IR sensor, to put in a different room,

Ebay for sure man. I went through the same problem and ended up getting one for under $10. I was hesitant about buying it as it was from hong kong (ebay knockoff champs) but i have used it for 2+ months with no problems.

Alright, it's about time I join this thread. Just finished doing some reworking and upgrading of my home theatre system. Pics coming in an hour or so...

I made flames gimp feel aweful about himself after I laid a good ol fashioned but kicking on him on his projector playing nhl 10 I believe. His set up is nice! I think the flames won that night as well. Good evening of fun!

Can you recommend a place or two in town that sells them and has relatively helpful staff.

I don't think anyone in town uses them. A friend told me most install companies use RF now to eliminate the problem( he is an installer.) I got mine off ebay and a buddy just bought the harmony repeater off of amazon and he is really liking it. Downside to mind is that it is the size of wall outlet but you can hide it right beside an exsisting outlet and it looks fine. Harmony one is nice and small smaller then a bus ticket.

Man the screen I ordered off of tigerdirect.ca is shipping from the States. I ordered it a week ago and it's in South Carolina right now. That's super annoying. I hope there aren't border hassles...I thought it was shipping from Ontario when I bought it.

Same thing happens with Tiger Direct. Starts in Ontario but winds up doing a run through part of the the Sates.

No it says in fine print if it is shipping freight it is shipped from Illinois I believe it was. I wonder if all the snow is causing the problems for you? There are no fees due when you get your screen or anything like that. I am shocked you didn't get it yet mine came in under a week

Maybe it is the crazy weather. If the Haitians can survive the earthquake, I too can get through this. Hopefully it comes next week.

Alright, 1 hour turned into a couple days.

I haven't gone the projector route, so it's not as neat looking as some others here.

TV - Sharp Aquos 52" LCD
Receiver - Denon AVR 1611 (Just picked this up on boxing day, Dolby True HD is awesome)
Speakers:
- Centre, rear, sub are Sinclair Sculptura Series,
- front speakers are Paradigm Atom. I picked these up last week, and cannot tell you how much I'm in love with them.
Seating - One new lounge chair, and one hella old blue leather couch
DVD/Gaming- PS3 & AppleTV

In the future, I would love to buy an entire speaker system from Paradigm. But for now it's sorta pieced together.

Okay, now 10 days after ordering the screen it's only in Illinois. I think they're shipping it via pack mule.
