Mac + Safari = Java Applet not loading

Any one encounter the issue with safari/firefox not loading Java Applets?(such has Facebook's image uploader)

All i get is the coffee cup and nothing loads.

Using Mac OS X v10.5 Leopard.

I have tried reinstalling Java and any other updates for the laptop.

Have also done numerous searches and tried some suggestions and nothing has worked?

I am at my wits end, anyone have a solution?

Does anything come up in the browsers console? I could be getting confused with the JS console though...

Also, try loading the Java Preferences pane (under Applications/Utilities/Java) and play around with a few of those settings. Sounds like you're loading the Java runtime, but just arn't getting the applet transmitted. Or possibly the paths to the base class files are screwed up, at which point somewhere things should be tossing class not found exceptions. Just thinking.... hmmm.

Honestly, Apple doesn't know how to deal with Java very well. Of all the platforms I've used, OSX seriously fails when it comes to Java support.
