Posted this in the CanMNT thread by accident, pre-coffee:
CanPL have announced the tiebreaker format for the finals: away goals rule, straight to penalties after 90.
Personally, I don't like it. If a team is deadlocked after 180 minutes, give them another 30 to sort it out - it is a championship final after all. Plus the drama of an extra-time winner is far better than penalties, which I see as an absolute last resort.
In Tommy we trust though. Get a couple of away goals in Hamilton and hopefully the penalty spot never sees the light of day in the finals.

As I said a few post above, if the Cavs are not playing against Forge + the refs, then we should have an excellent chance to winning the title. But I suspect the CanPL officials will try everything to sway things in Forge's favour...

The biggest thing that will work in Cavalry's favour is the atmosphere at Spruce Meadows. But people need to buy tickets to the second leg for that atmosphere to be an advantage. And there appear to be a lot of empty seats 3 weeks out.
Tim Horton's Field will be 75% empty for the first leg.

Because I'm a huge nerd and am a bit bored at work I've calculated the leaders for Cavalry in a few stats. I'm combining cup and league competitions in all these and because I've manually calculated everything there may be errors.
Code:
Games
1. Zator, 34
2. Buscher, 31
3 (tie). Mavila, 30
3 (tie). Pasquotti, 30
5. Brown, 29
Starts
1. Zator, 31
2 (tie). Mavila, 27
2 (tie). Buscher, 27
2 (tie). Pasquotti, 27
5. Carducci, 26
Sub Appearances
1 (tie). Minatel, 11
1 (tie). Brown, 11
3. Patino, 9
4. Pepple, 8
5. Eustaquio, 7
Minutes
1. Zator, 2875
2. Mavila, 2393
3. Pasquotti, 2354
4. Carducci, 2340
5. Buscher, 2280
Goals
1. Malonga, 13 (2 pen)
2. Minatel, 8
3. Camargo, 7
4. Buscher, 6
5. Pasquotti, 5
Minutes/Goal excluding penalties
1. Minatel, 185
2. Malonga, 191
3. Camargo, 215
4. Buscher, 380
5. Brown, 398
Clean Sheets
1. Carducci, 9
2. Giantsopoulos, 4
Goals Allowed/90
1. Carducci, 0.69
2. Giantsopoulos, 0.78
Winning Percentage
1. Carducci, 0.73
2. Giantsopoulos, 0.72
My conclusions from this:
1. Zator is a beast. He's played all except 1 game (the Spring finale against Pacific) and has never been removed from a game he started.
2. Minatel has quietly been producing on par with Malonga.
3. Brown really doesn't produce enough as a striker. A goal every 400 minutes is not good enough.
4. There hasn't been a huge difference between our keepers though some of that is quality of competition. Giantsopoulos has faced Forge twice but mostly Pacific & Edmonton.

I'm betting on between 4-5000 for that game, so the atmosphere will be fine. Championship game or not, Hamilton is just not going to cause the same level of hype or excitement that the Whitecaps and Impact did.

The important part is that the south end will be mental. 109 and all of the 200s are sold out. If Cavalry can attack that direction the second half it will be a huge advantage.

I've seen alot of Brown minutes, as an attacking wing, where those Goals/Minute, are fine.
What's his positional ratio? Attacking Wing vs Striker?

Not sure how I'd determine that, but as an estimate I just calculated the games where Malonga didn't play or where they replaced each other. Figure if Malonga isn't on the field and Brown is, Brown is probably playing as the striker.
In those games Brown has played 1015 minutes and has 2 goals.
The other 2 goals he scored were back in May when I think we were playing a 3-5-2 with him and Malonga as dual strikers so that may improve his ratio. I'd be comfortable saying Brown shouldn't be playing as the lone striker but may be acceptable as a winger or partner for Malonga.

Ticket renewals are out. Looks like 109 prices remain the same - $416 including taxes/fees. Supporters section is $340 which I'm guessing is an increase.
The high end has definitely come down a lot. Most expensive non-officers club seats are $69.40 per game and include a parking pass. The center sections look to be $42-45 per game.

I paid roughly $286 last season in the supporters section so $340 is an increase, albiet about $3.50 per match increase so it's not unreasonable.
My invoice said the ticket pack is for 16 games, which would be one more than last year. We would get 14 games for the season plus 1 CanChamp game, which leaves one more.
I'm wondering if it's a typo or if there is an event planned at Spruce Meadows next year that hasn't been announced yet?

I paid $700 per seat in 107.
Potential to into 106, without a pillar.

The number of games seems odd. I'm intrigued.

It looks like the higher priced sections went down considerably and the lower priced sections went up to compensate for it. My tickets in section 200 are up from $263 to $340. The ticket package is for 16 games in 2020 instead of 15 games in 2019, which is information that is likely lost in the price. Also, there's the free subscription to One Soccer.
I think this makes sense for the club even if some people will inevitably whine about it. The diehards in section 200 won't have a problem paying $77 more per season ticket, and the higher end seats become more palatable to casual fans.

The pricing structure makes infinitely more sense. The higher seats should be cheaper.

Note that the $263 last year didn't include taxes/fees which this year's $340 does. Still an increase, but not quite as much and as you say, an extra included game.
The hardest hit seem to be 102 & 108 as they got bumped from the Troops tier to the Corps with a price increase to match.

I mean that is around a 25% increase in price to your most loyal and hardcore supporters group. I am sorry but that is unacceptable. This team just does not get it.

How do you guys read; Section 107; rows 1-10 ?
$672?
Also this is huge. I suggested that season ticket holders should receive this last spring. Good to see.
