I wear 9.5 skates and 11 shoes. Skates are definitely a size or two down from shoes.

Yeah, I guess I’m 12, my goalie skates are 11.5 and out are 11. I was more thinking 2 sizes was small. You don’t see many larger than 10 at the equipment sales. I think Iggy’s were 8.5 (?)

Mind you for me the width is more of the issue with fit.

Someone please buy those Shane O'Brien gloves. Seems sad that they're still there.

So who collects from the proceeds? Does it get donated to charity?

most of this is provided to the players by sponsors isn't it? So does it go to the players?

I believe they are paid to use their equipment but each NHL club is still responsible to pay for the equipment. I think the players/agents essentially give the team a shopping list of what they plan on using for that season.

Approximately 70 used Brouwer sticks... I wonder if you need to sign a waiver before you can take one home and unleash your own Brouwerplay...

Does anyone have a suggestion for how early I should plan on being there?

Thanks,

ha ha, there is a set of Stajan gloves and in the notes it says there is "blood on left glove".

$60 seems pretty cheap for someone to pick these up, then try to clone him in a lab.

Thanks,
I got there last year as the doors were opening around 8am and the line up was pretty long. They only let so many in at a time and the line moved quite slowly. So if there's some specific items you're after I suggest being there well before the doors open.

However, I stayed a couple of hours, once I'd waited in line to get the player autographs for my kids etc, and there was still tons of stock left when I left. A couple of hours in to it you could have walked straight in, so it really depend what you're looking for.

The cheap stuff doesn’t really sell, just wait until they release the long list of remaining items and just order whatever you want. You go pick them up a few weeks later.

I have been told that an NHL team budgets over a million bucks a year for equipment.

Stuff ain't cheap and no the players do not get the money, they just don't pay for it. Many have deals with the manufacturers to use their gear though.

I have to assume the majority of a hockey equipment manufacturers revenue is generated through pros (and Junior). The pros don’t pay for it, but someone has to pay them for all that high end gear.

I haven't been down for a few years but it was worth the trip this year. Got down at about 830. No line, walked right in, great deal on new gloves, helmet, pro jersey, and Oakley visor. Way less busy then in other years. I left happy.
