Cheering for Washington, fully expected Tampa to win it.
Will be cheering for the West regardless I think, although an Ovi-cup would be excellent to see.

I hate how the same few teams win the cup every year. I want it to be a fanbase thats been waiting a while too (so not Vegas) Hope Wpg or Caps or Nashville win it

First time in what like 8 or 9 years that it won't be one of the 4 teams to win it recently?
If Vegas wins it all I fully expect the NHL to get serious heat over longtime franchises not winning.

Heat from whom?
It is really difficult in hindsight to see how this is anything but a big win for the League. This inaugural season has galvanized a new fanbase in a city which will soon be hosting the NFL, and this comes at precisely the same time the League is preparing to enrol another new franchise.
I can't imagine that what happens with Vegas will sour any of the current NHL Governors—all of whom have reaped a huge cash windfall as a result. I can't see how Vegas's success will undermine fan responses from other markets.
On your first point, it is good to see that the next Stanley Cup winner will either be a first-time Champion, or a first-time in over a decade winner.

Some interesting stats on the conference finals.
Quote:
This will mark the first time in NHL history that the final four will have combined for one or fewer Stanley Cup wins.

Tampa Bay has gone to Game 7 in each of its previous four trips to the Conference Finals, winning in 2004 and 2015 (vs. PHI and NYR, respectively) and losing in 2011 and 2016 (vs. BOS and PIT, respectivel

If Washington advances, it will mark the second time since 2000 that two teams who have never won the Cup go head-to-head in the Final (since all three remaining teams in the West are chasing their first title). The only such instance came in 2007 when the Ducks defeated the Senators in five games.

Not only that, but it would be only the sixth time in NHL history that two teams who have never won the Cup will meet in the Final. - 1934 - Chicago vs Detroit
- 1991 - Pittsburgh vs Minnesota
- 1996 - Colorado vs Florida
- 1999 - Dallas vs Buffalo
- 2007 - Anaheim vs Ottawa
The 1996 Final is the only time in NHL history that neither team had ever been to the Final before.

Good point, I was really looking at the key players(Ovi, Backstroke, Oshi vs Stamkos, Kucherov and Hedman and Point. Regardless, Tampa Bay will win this in 5.
Washington looks like they are a weaker team then in the past, but Pittsburg just did not have it this year.
