I mean he's a terrible human being but he's a good hockey player, so I could see a team bringing him back. It would definitely add some fire to the Kings rivalry

What was the issue again? Didn't he beat his girlfriend and then flee to Russia to avoid charges?
I must be completely misremembering if he's considering coming back to play.

As with all things in life, people deserve a chance at redemption and growth. If he has turned his personal life around, I have no issue with an NHL team bringing him back if the league allows it.

IIRC, Voynov was deported, so even if he wants to come back, he may not be able to due to the government. Then again, this US administration is in the pocket of mother Russia, much loved comrades.

He allegedly punched his girlfriend. He pleaded down to a misdemeanor charge and spent 90 days in a luxury jail. After his jail time was up he decided to voluntary go home to Russia rather than contest the US government who was trying to deport him for the incident.

That will be the biggest issue for him right now. Will the US allow him back in the country.

Beat his wife, got suspended indefinitely, went to jail, came back out, got detained by immigration authorities as soon as he walked out of jail, decided while he was detained that he'd go back to Russia, which worked out because the Kings were working on terminating his contract and it looked like he was getting deported anyway.

The worst part (other than the domestic abuse, obviously.) Is that he was still getting paid the entire time until he left. And since the US is so messed up he was able to pay $100 a day to go to a 'detention center' instead of regular jail

Get out of here Voynov, you are human garbage and threw away your NHL career the day you decided hit your spouse.

I personally hope he is able to talk to teams so they can tell him to gtfo.

His wife had desperately tried to backpedal once it dawned on her that she will be deported along with Voynov. She withdrew all the complains and claimed language barrier and misunderstanding. Too late, they both had to come back to Russia. One of the dumbest fails in immigration history.

A couple of years later she delivered a baby. Could they stay in the USA, he would be an american citizen. The baby got screwe up big time.

We all make mistakes. Lacking room in one's heart to forgive being one of them.

Beating your wife is not a "mistake".

He was accused of choking, kicking, and punching his wife, Marta Varlamova, and it was even said that he threw her into a TV
Doing something like that even once is unforgivable in my eyes.

Yes, of course. I'm sure you're perfect and have never done anything wrong.

C'mon lets be fair, he didn't say he have never done anything wrong in his life. But I don't think he has beaten his wife.

This argument is so stupid. Yes, we've all done dumb things, however most of those things were nowhere near as bad as beating our girlfriends or wives. Come on man.

Seems like a perfect fit for the Oilers. L.A could probably get a Kings ransom from Chia.

lol saying that is like someone who's killed people saying in court to the judge "well I'm pretty sure you sped on your way to work this morning so let he who is without sin cast the fiirst stone"

If it was a joke, it worked because I got a chuckle out of it but if you're being serious, ask yourself how you would feel you saw the person you loved the most in this world get beaten almost to death by a stranger, would you just say to that stranger "oopsie, that was a mistake but no hard feelings bro"

What voynov did was wrong and he should face justice for what he did, I can't see any reason to let him back into North America (unless it's to serve time) let alone into the NHL.
